ABOUT THE TEAMThe Credit Investments team seeks to invest in senior debt, junior debt and preferred equity to support sponsor-backed leveraged buyouts, refinancings and distressed / rescue financings. The team also opportunistically trades positions in the secondary market. Credit Investments is a dedicated asset class within PSP that identifies unique opportunities and manages a portfolio of high quality, diversified investments while generating excess returns relative to our benchmark.
ABOUT YOUR ROLEAs an Intern, Credit Investments, you will:
Provide support to the investment team during all phases of the credit investing process
Assist with investment diligence and screening, including financial modelling and accounting analysis, industry and sector analysis (qualitative and quantitative) and the preparation and presentation of findings
Participate in the investment execution process, including assisting in drafting and / or reviewing legal documentation, and post-investment portfolio monitoring
Complete an end of internship project consisting of an investment recommendation memo presented to our team’s investment committee
Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program
Record of academic achievement
Computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken
Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy
Demonstrated initiative and curiosity to look beyond surface facts and conduct comprehensive, fact-based, value-added research
Experience with financial statements
Attention to detail and a rigorous approach to research, analysis and documentation
Ability to work collaboratively, cultivating meaningful relationships with colleagues and counterparties
Eagerness to learn, ideate and innovate
Drive to pursue excellence and challenge the status quo
Open-mindedness and active listening skills
