Actuarial Internship Role Overview:
This remote internship supports research efforts aimed at developing evaluations and conducting experience analyses for health insurance products, including areas such as risk adjustment, pricing, and valuation. The position involves working on analyzing potential legislation for financial impacts to healthcare costs, as well as researching potential health insurance policy changes for premium impacts.
Key Details:
- Start Date: December 2026 | Duration: 6 months (December 2026 - June 2027)
- Hours: Minimum of 20 hours a week; up to 40 hours a week Monday – Friday during the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. ET.
- Location: Remote
- Sponsorship is not available for this role

Preferences:
- Majors in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or Statistics
- Reside in Eastern or Central Time Zone
- Proactive self-starter with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Interest in emerging technologies, including AI and automation, and their application to actuarial and business challenges

Job Qualifications
Education
- Active college students (in an accredited college or university) who have completed a minimum of two years of college are eligible.
- Recent college graduates and students enrolled in a Masters or Doctoral program (in an accredited college or university) are also eligible.
- Must provide transcripts.
- Active full-time BCBST employees are not eligible to participate in the program.
Experience
- Varies based on division. Please see Job Specific Requirements section below for this internship’s specific responsibilities and preferred qualifications.
Skills/Certifications
- Able to prioritize, work independently, and effectively manage time and resources.
- Effective communication skills: written and verbal.
- Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Appropriate decision-making skills required.
GPA requirement
- Must have a 2.75 GPA or higher
