We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate to Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical & Instrumentation team based in either Halifax, Nova Scotia or Fredericton, New Brunswick. Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Innovate: Manage, coordinate, and design electrical systems for industrial facilities, water & wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and other infrastructure;
  • Mentor and Inspire: Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technologists, fostering an environment that encourages innovation and growth;
  • Design with Precision: Prepare detailed designs, contract documents, and technical specifications for systems such as power distribution (medium and low voltage), lighting, telecommunications, fire alarm, instrumentation, control systems;
  • Deliver Excellence: Provide electrical engineering advice and support across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring smooth project execution and technical excellence;
  • Ensure Safety & Quality: Incorporate safety standards and risk analysis into designs while ensuring projects adhere to electrical codes, standards, and best practices;
  • Drive Business Growth: Engage in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client interaction; and
  • Provide On-Site Expertise: Conduct site surveys, assess existing infrastructure, and oversee construction activities to ensure the successful execution of projects.

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering is required, with registration or eligibility for registration with provincial Engineering Associations;
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant electrical engineering experience;
  • Experience in electrical system design, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and instrumentation, with in-depth knowledge of electrical codes;
  • Proficiency in Revit for electrical design, coordination, and interdisciplinary project collaboration;
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information, draft detailed reports, and work collaboratively with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and project stakeholders; and
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and deliver quality work on time and within budget.

Valued Experience

  • Experience working in a consulting engineering environment is preferred;
  • 10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience;
  • Electrical design experience in industrial, water, and/or wastewater; and
  • Knowledge of PLC-based control systems and instrumentation.
  • The ability to communicate in both English and French would be an asset.
