Junior DevOps Engineer

We’re looking for an Junior DevOps Engineer (Level 1) to help us build and evolve the platforms, infrastructure and delivery pipelines that enable our technical teams to do their best work.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, automating the repetitive, strengthening security and making it easier for engineers to build, test and deploy great software.

You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and technical leaders, translating architectural decisions into scalable, automated and secure infrastructure.

What You'll Do

Build and Scale Cloud Infrastructure

• Build, manage and continuously improve scalable cloud infrastructure across GCP, AWS and/or Azure.

• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

• Manage cloud networking, IAM and security controls in line with industry best practices.

• Build and maintain standardised infrastructure patterns across development, staging and production environments.

• Help ensure our infrastructure is designed for security, reliability, performance and scale.

Enable Engineering Through CI/CD

• Build and maintain robust GitLab CI/CD pipelines that enable teams to ship reliably and efficiently.

• Integrate automated testing and security controls, including SAST, DAST and SCA, into the software delivery lifecycle.

• Automate repetitive processes and remove friction from the developer experience.

• Continuously improve our deployment processes, tooling and engineering workflows.

• Create clear, useful documentation for infrastructure, platform tooling and operational processes.

Keep Our Platforms Reliable

• Monitor infrastructure and application performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.

• Investigate and resolve infrastructure, deployment and production issues.

• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response.

• Contribute to post-incident reviews and implement preventative measures to reduce repeat incidents.

• Help ensure our platforms remain reliable, performant and scalable as our products and data workloads grow.

Build Security In, Not On

At Isazi AI, security is part of how we engineer and not something added at the end.

You’ll work alongside our engineering and security teams to:

• Embed security controls throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Identify and remediate vulnerabilities across applications and infrastructure.

• Implement secure IAM, SSO, network segmentation and zero-trust principles.

• Support security monitoring, logging and auditing.

• Help maintain infrastructure configurations aligned with recognised security standards.

• Contribute to compliance initiatives such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2.

What You'll Bring

We’re looking for someone with 1 to 3 years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering or Cloud Engineering, with a strong appetite for solving problems and learning continuously.

You’ll ideally have:

• Hands-on experience designing and managing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across GCP, AWS and/or Azure.

• Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience, including an understanding of CIS Benchmarks.

• Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, including container security and hardening.

• Advanced scripting skills in Python, Bash and/or Go.

• Strong experience building and securing GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience implementing automated security gates such as SAST, DAST and SCA.

• A solid understanding of IAM, SSO, network segmentation and zero-trust security principles.

• Experience with SIEM/XDR solutions such as Wazuh, including security monitoring, FIM, logging and auditing.

• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

• An understanding of security and engineering frameworks such as OWASP SAMM, ASVS, SOC 2 and/or ISO 27001.

Most importantly, you should be someone who enjoys understanding why things work the way they do, not just making them work.

Nice to Have

• Relevant technical certifications, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or CKA.

• Experience working in a SaaS, AI or data-intensive technology environment.

• Experience working with formal security or compliance frameworks.

• A genuine interest in emerging technology and the evolving world of AI engineering.
