What You Would Do in This Role

This position involves maintaining and enhancing PHP/MySQL applications, developing new front-end and back-end features, and creating business intelligence (BI) reports for data-driven insights. The role may include managing small projects or tasks independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams. By applying technical expertise, the developer streamlines processes, improves data accuracy, and facilitates data-informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Legacy Application Support: Troubleshoots issues in PHP/MySQL systems, implementing updates or patches that enhance performance or reliability.
• Full Stack Development: Develops and maintains front-end features with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, while writing scalable PHP code for secure data integration.
• BI Report Development: Utilizes tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to create and refine dashboards, automating recurring reporting tasks for timely insights.
• Data Analysis & Preparation: Gathers, cleanses, and transforms data from multiple sources, identifying trends or anomalies to inform decision-making.
• Transition & System Integration: Participates in evaluating new solutions, documenting technical requirements, and assisting in system integrations or migrations.
• Quality Assurance: Develops and executes functional, regression, and user acceptance tests, adhering to code review standards.
• Documentation: Maintains concise, up-to-date documentation of codebases, data models, and reporting processes, following version control protocols.
• Collaboration & Communication: Works cross-functionally with designers, product managers, and analysts, translating technical concepts for varied audiences.
• Process Improvement & Automation: Suggests and implements process enhancements or scripts to reduce manual tasks and improve efficiency.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of PHP, JavaScript, SQL, and familiarity with BI platforms.
• Problem-Solving: Effectively troubleshoots moderate technical challenges with minimal oversight.
• Data Analysis: Executes data cleaning, transformation, and interpretation for actionable insights.
• Collaboration: Operates effectively alongside cross-functional teams, adapting to shifting priorities.
• Communication: Conveys technical information in formats readily understood by various stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
• Experience: Approximately 2–4 years of experience in software development and BI/reporting.
• Additional Skills: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, scripting languages (e.g., Python), or ETL processes.
• Certifications: Demonstrable credentials in BI, data analytics, or software development are advantageous.
