Job Description:

Interface and Integration Manager

About the Role

Interface & Integration Manager contributes to Hitachi’s responsibility to design, manage interfaces, and prepare the documentation needed for installation, test and placing in service approvals. Its specific contribution is to lead interface identification, ICD/register control, cross-supplier alignment and escalation of unresolved interface issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain interface management plan, interface register, ICDs, dependencies, assumptions and closure evidence.

  • Coordinate interfaces.

  • Chair interface meetings, track actions and convert open points into signed agreements or escalations.

  • Ensure interface changes are reflected in requirements, configuration, schedule, change control and IVVQ/T&C plans.

  • Support integration readiness reviews and cross-system commissioning scenarios.

  • Apply the Hitachi Code of Conduct in role-specific decisions, including ethical escalation, anti-bribery discipline, confidentiality, data protection, fair supplier/customer conduct and transparent records.

  • Lead interface identification, ICD/register control, cross-supplier alignment and escalation of unresolved interface issues.

  • Functional authority for interface-management process, interface register and technical coordination.

  • Can convene interface actions and escalate unresolved blockers.

Key Interfaces

  • Solution Engineering Manager, Engineering Manager, Requirements Manager, Configuration & Defect Manager and all WPLs.

  • Customer technical/interface teams, infrastructure owner, operator, civil works and utility stakeholders.

  • IVVQ Manager, T&C Manager, Installation Design Manager and suppliers.

  • Customer and external supplier interface owners.

  • Interface coordination boards.

  • Collaboration forum.

Authority & Accountability

  • Accountable for interface visibility, ownership and closure evidence.

  • Authorised to request interface information, chair resolution forums and escalate overdue/blocked interfaces.

  • Cannot accept changes outside configuration/change Governance; routes changes through the approved process.

Mandate

Ensure Project interfaces are explicitly owned, technically agreed, tested and closed before they become integration failures.

Skills & Experience

  • Interface management experience in multidisciplinary rail, infrastructure or systems-integration Programmes.

  • Ability to translate complex dependencies into practical agreements and testable criteria.

  • Strong meeting control, action tracking and escalation skills.

  • Resilience and resistance to stress during interface disputes and integration test failures.

  • Structured, persistent and collaborative working style.

  • More than 7 years in interface management and multi-supplier integration on rail/infrastructure Projects.
