Your Department:
The Solution Engineering department is responsible to develop a winning commercial proposal, in close cooperation with the Sales Management department during the sales phase, and to successfully implement the as sold total solution with the Project Execution department. The department consists of a wide range of expertise to enable the design and sell a total solution towards customers and to execute these designs when awarded.
Key of the Solution Engineering department is one responsibility to sell and execute a total solution within one team, without critical interfaces to other departments.
Your position:
Vanderlande understands the complexities associated with operating a successful airport and parcel operation and delivers future proof logistic process automation. These automation systems are composed of many (electro-) mechanical and IT components, built by teams in various parts of the world and must be integrated with other (software) systems to support the processes of our customers.
As an Integration Manager, you are integrating the various components and (sub)systems into a solution. This is especially challenging for large and complex airport and parcel systems consisting of individual carrier systems, automatic storage and retrieval systems, automated guided vehicles, robots, conveyors, control software and IT infrastructure. You test the system to ensure that it works according to the design. Often, testing involves attempts to intentionally break the system to identify any problem areas, based on an analysis of technical risks. Test- and integration engineers / Managers contribute to the success of projects through their superior knowledge of the system as a whole, its operational objectives, how its parts work together, and the technical factors that go into its development.
Tasks and responsibilities:

Support the sales engineering department in concept review, identifying risk & opportunities in sales phase.

Manage the functional design to ensure customer requirements are translated into the right solution with the lowest possible risks. Advise on the use of standard solutions and the impact of special solutions.

Realize the system integration plan, test plans and test specifications in collaboration with Solution Architect and Integration engineer(s)

Lead a team of integration engineers for the on-site integration of regional projects and RMR’s.

Manage the test phase and ensure a smooth, seamless transition to our customers operational processes together with other engineering disciplines.

Set up and configure test environments and the test tooling.

Execute the integration, system and customer acceptance tests inhouse and on-site.

Analyse and report the test results, (production) problems and verify solutions.

Support Lifecycle Services in reviewing lifecycle service proposals and RMR’s, act as custodian of the system such that the operational readiness is guaranteed.

Identify areas for improvement based on customer and operational feedback.
Your profile:
You are an analytical problem solver who thinks in a systems perspective. You are able to manage small details while keeping an eye on the big picture. You like to work together in an international multi-disciplinary team of engineers.

A technical degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Industrial Automation, Computer Science or Control Technology) at least at bachelor level.

Affinity with IT and Industrial Automation and interested in logistic processes.

Previous experience of material handling domain will be an added advantage.

Desired experience level: 8 years and above.

Knowledge of Systems Engineering and / or Software development.

Knowledge of testing methodologies and techniques.

Knowledge of automated test-tools (execution, result registration, test management)
