About the Role:
Senior Quantity Surveyors often split their time between office settings and on-site project locations. Travel may be required, especially for projects spanning multiple locations
Key Responsibilities:
• Review design documentation and Bill of Quantities and recommend any amendments to correct
deficiencies
• Evaluate the works completed, including construction records and determine quantities of works completed which are deemed to comply with the specifications, standards and the contract
• Assess interim payment claims from Contractor and provide recommendations to the Engineer for certification. Prepare interim payment certificates
• Maintain up to date financial and other data relevant for contract administration tasks
• Provide input to Monthly Progress Reports and other reports as required by the Project Manager and the Client
• Assess claims and variations as submitted by the contractor and provide costing evaluations and recommendations
• Undertake estimation of quantities and costs, and other tasks as required by the Project Manager
• Assist the Project Manager in measurement of quantities and the certification of works and other contractual obligations prior to issuance of Substantial Completion.
Suitable applicants will have/be:
- 10+ years of Experience, ideally in large-scale projects.
- Relevant Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience with cost estimation, tender preparation, and contract management.
- Professional certifications like MRICS are often preferred.
