Role overview
Want to build your career in telecom, mobile networks and 5G while working with technology used by millions of people every day?
As a VoLTE / Control / IMS Integration Engineer, you'll help integrate, test and troubleshoot Ericsson's voice and core network solutions in real customer environments.
You'll get hands-on exposure to VoLTE, IMS, 4G/5G and cloud technologies, working alongside experienced engineers and customers to understand how networks work, solve technical challenges and keep services running smoothly.
We're hiring across different experience levels (JS2-JS5), so you don't need to be an expert in everything from day one. For junior engineers, we're looking for strong technical foundations, curiosity and a willingness to learn. If you're more experienced, you'll have the opportunity to take greater ownership of technical delivery, problem-solving and customer activities.
What you will do
You'll work with Ericsson technology that helps keep people connected - supporting voice and mobile network services used every day.
Depending on your experience level, you'll learn from experienced engineers while gradually taking more ownership of technical activities and customer projects.• Help integrate, test and troubleshoot VoLTE, IMS and 4G/5G Core network solutions in real customer environments. • Work hands-on with network technologies, learning how different systems connect and how voice and data travel through a mobile network. • Investigate technical issues using logs, traces, alarms, KPIs and test results and work with the team to find the root cause. • Support testing of services such as VoLTE calls, IMS registration, SMS over IMS, emergency calling and other mobile voice features. • Help configure, upgrade, migrate and expand network solutions while making sure services continue running smoothly. • Work with technologies and protocols such as SIP, Diameter, IP networking, Linux, DNS/ENUM and HTTP/2, depending on your experience. • Collaborate with engineers, solution architects, project managers, customers and other technical teams to solve problems and deliver projects successfully. • Document your work and share what you learn with the wider team. • Build your knowledge of cloud-native telecom and 5G Standalone (5G SA) technologies as our networks continue to evolve. • As your experience grows, take greater ownership of technical activities, customer communication, planning and solution design.
What you bring
You don't need to know everything on day one. We're looking for people who are curious, enjoy solving technical problems and want to keep learning.• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field - or equivalent practical experience. • An interest in mobile networks and technologies such as VoLTE, IMS, 4G/5G, IP networking or cloud. • Some hands-on technical exposure through work, an internship, university projects, labs or personal projects. More experienced candidates should bring relevant telecom integration, operations or support experience. • Basic knowledge of Linux, networking, SIP, Diameter or IMS/VoLTE is a plus - we don't expect junior candidates to be experts. • A logical approach to troubleshooting: you enjoy understanding why something isn't working and figuring out how to fix it. • Curiosity and confidence to ask questions when you don't know something. • Good communication skills and the ability to work with different teams and customers. • A collaborative mindset - you're happy to learn from others and share what you know. • Fluent written and spoken English. • Willingness to work regularly from the customer testing facility approximately 30 km from Maastricht, as hands-on customer-site testing is an important part of this role.
Location: Maastricht
