The Position
Integration Architect / Champion
At Roche, we’re seeking highly technical integration architects to help our Roche business in maximizing the benefits derived from our multiple integration platforms and partner with us for “doing now what our patients need next”. If you are a multidisciplinary, technology-agnostic and broadly skilled integration architect who enjoys helping teams navigate the complex and dynamic integration landscape, this might be the role for you.
The Integration Champion is responsible for helping teams define and communicate a shared technical and architectural vision for data and integration assets within their product line. This person will help ensure quality in accordance with the overall Informatics technology strategy and principles, helping ensure it is fit for its intended purpose.
You will work with product managers, solution architects, platform teams and the business stakeholders to ensure that the system is designed to run as expected, has built-in observability, balances emergent design and takes a system view across the full value stream.
You will align with the enterprise architects and other solution architects to realize the vision of the domain and promote platform thinking, reusability and interoperability. You will provide the business a window to key innovative technology trends and evolution of technology within the vertical industry, which has the potential to accelerate the fulfillment of the business strategic vision.
Your key responsibilities:

Defining integration solution requirements and working with Enterprise Architects on the integration strategy for business domains

Providing strategic consultation to assigned line-of-business (LOB) customers in defining or designing business processes, functions and organizational structures, as well as using customer requirements in researching, identifying and internally marketing enabling technologies

Assessing current state of integration solutions, defining future state needs, identifying gaps and recommending new technology solutions and strategic business execution improvements

Facilitating stakeholder sessions with personnel across all disciplines in the company to identify and define requirements, assess business processes and evaluate technology solutions

Conducting integration solution architecture research, proof of concepts, feasibility assessment and facilitating solution application selections

Working closely with Enterprise Architects on defining long term architecture vision, integration patterns and review of technical portfolio

Participating and leading knowledge sharing in workshops and communities of practice.
Your qualifications and experience:
-
Min of overall 10+ years experience in Integration
-
Hands-on experience with at least two of the following technologies: MuleSoft, Solace, Kafka, SAP CPI, IBM Sterling Integrator
-
Very good understanding of integration patterns and concepts including Event-Driven Integration, API-Led Integration, B2B Integrations, Streaming, Data Integrations, Data Virtualization, MFT use cases

Expert knowledge and experience in applying integration architecture patterns from design to implementation
-
Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
-
Demonstrated ability to develop and articulate a vision for one or more technology domains and present it to a wide and diverse audience

Excellent communication skills.
Nice to Have:

Proven experience of creating architecture designs using a formal architecture framework methodology – TOGAF, Zachman

Consulting experience

Strong leadership skills and experience in managing teams of developers.
