Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud.  Within CO&I, the Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) organization is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world’s largest online services.  


We are seeking Lease Integration and Technical Infrastructure Managers (ITIM) to help deliver the infrastructure that powers Microsoft’s global cloud services.

These roles are located in Atlanta, GA, Austin, TX, Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, Northern Virginia, San Antonio, TX, and Qunicy, WA. Relocation assistance will be provided. Candidates selected are expected to relocate and work 100% onsite.

Responsibilities

The Lease ITIM is a critical member of Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, responsible for project management of all integration and fit-out activities for Microsoft-owned systems and services in leased facilities. This role ensures timely delivery of technical infrastructure to support Microsoft’s cloud capacity needs. 


Project Management: 

  •  Oversee integration and technical infrastructure fit-out activities for lease projects. 
  • Develop and manage project plans, track major milestones (e.g., Early Access, Ready Network Install, Corpnet Live,). 


Stakeholder Coordination: 

  •  Align internal Microsoft teams (Operations, Security, IT, Networking) with external stakeholders (Lease Provider, General Contractors, landlords, vendors, suppliers). 

Risk Mitigation:  

  •  Reviews and assistance with developing risk mitigation activities and communicating metrics, dashboards and/or scorecards to track and drive progress. Analyzes safety and security metrics and communicates results to leadership to drive action and accountability.  

Safety & Compliance: 

  •  Advocate for safe worksites and implement Microsoft’s High-Risk Activity (HRA) program. 
  • Ensure compliance with Microsoft safety standards and risk management processes.  

  • Coordinate procurement and installation of telecom systems, security systems, furniture/fixtures/equipment (FFE), and corporate network infrastructure. 

  • Collaborate with Data Center Engineering (DCE) and specialty consultants to review and execute design improvements.  

  • Drive lean delivery strategies and process improvements across multiple sites. 


Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years related experience OR equivalent experience.


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction project management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years related experience OR equivalent experience. 

  • 12+ years experience working on data center projects. 

  • Proven experience in data center construction, telecom infrastructure, and fit-out projects. 

  • Ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects and deadlines independently.  

  • Effective communication and cross-group collaboration skills. 

  • Experience with mission-critical facilities and vendor management. Knowledge of ISO-accredited safety and quality management systems.

  • Professional accreditation in Engineering such as IMechE & IEL 

  • Qualifications in Construction Contracts Management 

  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification 


Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Construction Project Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.

Construction Project Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
