Happen Bank (formerly LendingClub) is built around a simple purpose: to clear the way to help people turn intention into action, and action into financial progress. That means offering focused products, a frictionless mobile-first experience, and clear terms with no gotchas. Respect and fairness is part of our DNA, and that ideal shapes how we work, how we treat each other, and how we invest in our employees and our community. Join us in using data, bold thinking, and a commitment to innovation to help clear the way for millions of Americans to achieve more.

About the Role

This role brings IT and technology risk expertise into our Financial and Operations audit team, closing the gap between traditional financial audits and the systems and controls that support them. You'll lead integrated audits that pair IT and business process perspectives, strengthen how we test key ITGCs like user access reviews and change management, and help define our approach to auditing AI use across the business. It's a chance to shape how integrated audit works at Happen Bank, not just execute against an existing model.

What You'll Do

  • Lead integrated audits that combine IT and financial/operational risk perspectives across the bank
  • Build and refine our Integrated Audit approach, defining how IT and business process testing come together
  • Support the SOX team on IT-related controls, including scoping, issue identification, and remediation tracking
  • Test and evaluate key ITGCs such as user access reviews and change management, digging into root cause rather than surface symptoms
  • Help define and evolve our approach to auditing AI use across the business, including risk identification and control expectations
  • Partner with IT Audit, SOX, and Financial/Operations teams to align testing approaches and cut down on duplicated effort
  • Use data analytics and AI tools where they genuinely improve testing quality or coverage, not just for speed
  • Communicate findings and risk implications clearly to audit leadership and business stakeholders
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to audit team members throughout audit execution, fostering collaboration and professional growth

About You

  • 6+ years of internal audit or related risk/technology experience; bachelor's degree in a related field; or equivalent work experience
  • You take ownership of integrated audits end to end, from scoping through issue validation
  • You have hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate your work and improve output quality, and you're comfortable showing colleagues how
  • You're clear-eyed about where AI creates efficiency and where it creates new risk, and you translate that into practical audit guidance
  • You understand ITGCs like access management and change management well enough to spot when a control looks fine on paper but isn't working in practice
  • You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, adjusting your language without losing precision and ability to clearly articulate findings and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • You collaborate naturally across teams and bring people along rather than working in a silo
  • Experience auditing projects in real time, assessing risk and controls as products are built rather than only after go-live

Nice to Have

  • CISA, CISSP, CIA, or similar certification
  • Experience auditing SOX-in-scope IT controls
  • Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Exposure to AI/ML governance or model risk concepts
  • Experience auditing software or product development for financial products (e.g., payments, lending, securitization)
