A little about the role

As Insurance & Risk Account Manager, you will manage and grow a portfolio of Members, retaining existing business and identifying new opportunities through proactive, personalised account management.

This is a hands-on, field-based role for someone who is comfortable meeting Members face-to-face, building genuine business relationships and becoming a trusted adviser. You will take the time to understand how each business operates, accurately assess its risks and challenges, and recommend insurance and protection solutions that meet its needs.

Working autonomously across your territory, you will balance time on the road with disciplined portfolio management, follow-up and compliance. You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver responsive service, support retention and achieve sustainable growth.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for a reliable, commercially minded insurance professional who enjoys being in the field, understands business and builds credibility through practical, customer-focused advice.

What’s essential

• Demonstrated insurance experience, including the ability to understand business risks and recommend appropriate insurance or protection solutions.

• Strong field-based, client-facing experience managing a portfolio and developing trusted, long-term business relationships.

• A proven ability to ask the right questions, accurately assess business problems and translate those insights into practical solutions.

• Experience retaining existing business and identifying growth opportunities within an established customer base.

• Excellent communication, relationship management and negotiation skills, with confidence engaging business owners and decision-makers.

• Strong attention to detail and a clear commitment to compliance, accurate record keeping and agreed operational requirements.

• The reliability, self-motivation and organisation to manage a territory, travel regularly and deliver results with a high degree of autonomy.

Highly regarded

• Sales and relationship management experience in a business-to-business environment.

• Experience working with automotive, machinery or small-to-medium business customers.

• Confidence using customer relationship management and business systems.

• A track record of working collaboratively with internal teams to deliver strong customer outcomes.

Qualifications

RG146 Tier 1 Accreditation is essential. A current Australian driver’s licence and the ability to travel regularly, including occasional overnight stays, are also required.
