General Summary:The Instructional Content Designer leverages expertise in instructional design, content development, and writing to create engaging digital learning experiences. This role collaborates closely with Learning and Customer Operations partners to design and deliver effective digital curriculums. Core competencies include stakeholder consultation, identification of appropriate learning strategies, curriculum and content development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of digital learning solutions.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and develop instructional content including storyboarding, learning materials, etc.
- Conduct needs assessments and analyze learner requirements to create tailored learning experiences.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
- Consult with stakeholders to offer expert advice on instructional design and solutions.
- Utilize various instructional design models and methodologies to create effective learning solutions.
- Manage projects efficiently, demonstrating strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
- Develop assessments and evaluations to measure learner competency and the effectiveness of learning programs.
- Continuously improve and update existing learning content based on feedback and performance data.
- Responsible for facilitating in-person training for employees at all levels, as needed.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field preferred or equivalent relevant business experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years (combined) business functional experience.
- Demonstrated skill/competence in instructional design and development.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design models, content development, continuous improvement, and knowledge management.
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
- Strong presentation skills, comfortable facilitating meetings, review sessions, and providing status updates to business partners.
- Strong consultation/negotiation skills with the ability to form strong relationships to influence and guide stakeholders effectively.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$53,300.00-$100,700.00Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
