The Opportunity
We are hiring an Instructional Designer to create engaging, effective learning experiences that help our customers and internal teams get the most out of Canopy’s products.
In this role, you will design and develop scalable training programs, product education, and learning resources that simplify complex software concepts. You’ll work closely with Product, Customer Success, Support, and Marketing teams to translate product knowledge into clear, impactful learning experiences.
We’re looking for someone who is thoughtful, curious, and excited about leveraging modern learning tools—including AI-powered content creation and learning technologies- to improve how training is built and delivered. If you love solving problems, building great learning experiences, and using technology to scale knowledge, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a hybrid position in South Jordan, Utah (M, W, F in-office).
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop engaging learning experiences including e-learning courses, video tutorials, job aids, and product documentation
- Translate complex product and technical concepts into clear, effective training for customers and internal teams
- Partner with Product, Customer Success, Support, and Marketing to identify training needs and develop scalable learning solutions
- Use AI tools and modern learning technologies to streamline content creation, improve training efficiency, and enhance learning experiences
- Apply instructional design frameworks (ADDIE, SAM, or similar) to create structured, effective training programs
- Build and maintain product training resources for new feature launches and ongoing product updates
- Measure training effectiveness and continuously improve learning content based on feedback and data
- Manage multiple learning projects simultaneously in a fast-paced startup environment
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or training development
Experience designing digital learning content such as e-learning modules, video training, guides, or learning paths - Experience using AI tools (such as generative AI, AI-assisted content creation, or learning technology platforms) to improve instructional design workflows
- Strong ability to simplify complex concepts into clear, engaging learning experiences
- Experience working cross-functionally with product, technical, or customer-facing teams
- Strong written communication and storytelling skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Curiosity and a growth mindset with a willingness to experiment with new technologies and learning methods
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience creating training for SaaS products or software platforms
- Familiarity with LMS platforms, learning analytics, or customer education programs
- Experience with authoring tools such as Articulate, Rise, Camtasia, or similar tools
- Experience building AI-assisted learning workflows or automated training content
- Background in customer education, product enablement, or onboarding programs

Interviewing @ Canopy
Application processes can be a little stressful. Here are the stages of a typical interview process at Canopy:
- Once your application is received, we will review it and get back to you if we feel like it’s a mutual fit!
- 20-minute phone call with the People Team
- 45-60-minute video or in-person interview with the Hiring Manager
- 1-3 rounds of interviews, depending on the role
- Final Interview
Interview processes can vary depending on the role. The People Team will give you a role-specific overview of the process during your first phone call.
