SUMMARY:

  • The hourly Instructional Assistant pay rate to work on assignment in West Shore School District is $17.56 per hour
  • The Instructional Assistant position will work on all student days during the school calendar year, 7 paid hours per day on full school days
  • The Instructional Assistant will assist the librarian(s) in the process of operating the library facility by maintaining the (computerized) circulation/card catalog systems, providing support for the instructional program, and managing the library materials so as to maximize use of the library facilities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly support students at the direction of building Principals and classroom teacher
  • Performs the following tasks: proofreading; filing in a five-drawer file cabinet; filing and storage on nine-foot high shelves, standing to operate copier and collate materials, handling mail, operating paper cutter and paper drill; transporting up to ten reams of paper and printed material to office; assuring readiness of office equipment
  • Uses the computer for circulation of materials, record keeping, and report generation; updates and maintains the materials and patron database files. Uses appropriate computer software to create catalog cards, purchase orders, bibliographies, curriculum materials, new requisition lists, and correspondence
  • Receives, unpacks, verifies, tags, stores, and shelves materials from suppliers.

CURRENT OPENING:

  • Position split between New Cumberland Middle School and Crossroads Middle School (7 paid hours/day)

Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPRIENCE:

  • High school diploma
  • Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred

CREDENTIALING :

(Clearances current within 12 months)

  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN
  • TB Screening - current within 3 months
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
