Wells Fargo is seeking anInstitutional Investment Operations Specialistto support critical operational processes that help deliver efficient, accurate, and risk-conscious services across our investment operations environment. In this role, you will work closely with business partners and stakeholders to execute operational activities, resolve issues, and drive process improvements that support business objectives and enhance the client experience.

In this role, you will:
- Participate in lifecycle support tasks for institutional trade initiatives and identify opportunity for process improvements
- Assist leadership in bringing individual or teams together in order to resolve complex issues
- Assist in client account onboarding, input and monitoring of cash payments, customer service, project support, funding operations, custodial operations, securities settlement services, structured loan operations, general ledger reconciliation, as well as work to resolve confirmation and ISDA related issue
- Provide subject matter expertise on projects along with internal and industry related initiatives
- Review and analyze functional operational tasks that require research, evaluation, and exercise independent judgment to guide the deliverable
- Present recommendations for resolving complex situations and exercise independent judgement while developing expertise on functions, projects, internal and industry related initiatives
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end Securities Borrow & Lending lifecycle including borrows, returns, recalls, callbacks, settlements, and fail management.
- Knowledge of domestic and international settlement processes and market regulations.
- Experience with trade matching and settlement platforms (e.g., DTCC, Euroclear, Clearstream).
- Sound understanding of collateral management, margining concepts, stock loan metrics, and inventory management.
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve trade breaks, unmatched trades, and settlement exceptions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Trading, Middle Office, Risk, Asset Servicing, and Compliance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Exposure to process improvement, automation initiatives, and operational risk management.
Job Expectations:
- Manage the daily processing of SBL activities including borrows, returns, recalls, callbacks, and contract maintenance.
- Monitor settlement activity and proactively resolve exceptions to minimize fail exposure.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures.
- Perform detailed investigation of trade breaks and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Review stock loan metrics, inventory utilization, and operational KPIs to identify trends and risks.
- Handle complex client, counterparty, and business partner queries and escalations independently.
- Support business continuity through effective risk management and escalation awareness.
- Drive automation, process optimization, and control enhancement initiatives.
- Maintain process documentation, procedures, and training materials.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME), provide mentoring to junior team members, and support knowledge transfer activities.
- Partner with global stakeholders across Front Office, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to ensure seamless lifecycle management.
