Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Inside Sales Specialist to join our dynamic sales team in Houston, TX. In this role, you will be the vital link between our customers and our organization, managing the complete sales cycle from initial customer inquiries through quotation development and order placement. You will leverage your consultative selling approach, technical knowledge, and customer-focused mindset to drive sales growth while building lasting relationships with our clients.   • Receive, process, and prioritize customer Requests for Quotation (RFQs) from multiple channels, including web portals, direct inquiries, and outside sales referrals
  • Analyze customer requirements and project specifications to determine appropriate product solutions and sizing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, purchasing, and sales to develop comprehensive technical and commercial proposals
  • Prepare detailed quotations that include commercial terms, technical product information, pricing schedules, and delivery timelines
  • Conduct thorough technical and commercial review of incoming customer purchase orders to ensure alignment with quotations and facilitate seamless handoff to the contracts department
  • Provide exceptional technical support and guidance to customers, sales representatives, production teams, and internal departments
  • Develop and maintain accurate cost and delivery estimates using established pricing guidelines and profit targets
  • Generate internal orders to manufacturing facilities with complete product specifications and technical requirements
  • Manage project follow-up activities with company representatives, distributors, customers, and area sales managers to ensure customer satisfaction and order fulfillment
  • Identify opportunities to streamline departmental processes and develop tools to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Maintain organized records and documentation throughout the entire sales cycle
  • Demonstrate assertiveness and decisiveness in resolving commercial and technical issues while maintaining transparency with all stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in inside sales, sales support, or customer communication roles
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally at all organizational levels
  • Solid understanding of quotation development, pricing analysis, and cost estimation
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines consistently
  • Self-motivated, independent worker who thrives in both collaborative and autonomous settings
  • Ability to apply analytical thinking to develop creative solutions that maximize customer value
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering quality service to both internal and external customers
  • Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) principles and practices
  • Strong listening and empathetic communication skills
  • Problem-solving ability with a focus on finding innovative solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electronic sales portals or procurement platforms
  • Background in industrial automation, instrumentation, or related technical fields
  • Knowledge of industrial products such as actuators, controls, solenoids, positioners, or limit switches
  • Completion of a technical course or certification in a relevant field
  • Advanced English proficiency for technical reading and writing
  • Experience with sales pipeline management and forecasting
  • Familiarity with technical documentation and specification development
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial sales environment
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence outcomes
  • Experience developing tools or processes to improve operational efficiency
