Work Location
This is a hybrid role based out of our Toronto office (18 York Street, Suite 1500, Toronto, ON M5J 2T8), with a required in-office presence of 3 days per week.
Seniority and Compensation
This is an entry-level to junior role, making it an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals early in their mortgage career. The base salary ranges from $60,000 to $75,000, with quarterly bonus targets up to $5,000. Total expected compensation lands between $80,000 and $95,000+, with the potential to approach six figures for strong performers.
Why We Are Hiring
We are hiring an Inside Sales Manager to join the Residential Business Development team in Eastern Canada. Reporting to the Director of Sales, Eastern Canada, this person will help grow our presence in Ontario’s broker channel.
This role is focused on expanding and strengthening the Ontario broker portfolio. That includes growing value within existing broker relationships and building new partnerships with brokers and franchises entering the market. With inside sales support already established in Calgary and Vancouver, this hire will help build out our Toronto presence and ensure Ontario brokers receive strong coverage and support. Despite the title, this is an individual contributor role focused on managing broker relationships, not people.
This Role Might Be for You If
You’re a junior or entry-level, sales-oriented candidate with ideally some exposure to the mortgage industry and a strong interest in relationship-building and business development. You’re confident with outreach, comfortable speaking with new people, and looking for a stepping-stone role in the mortgage broker industry.
What You'll Be Doing
- Relationship Management: Act as the main point of contact for existing partner brokers in Ontario, strengthening relationships and growing the value of those partnerships over time.
- New Broker Partner Development: Identify and build strong, valuable relationships with new brokerages and franchises in the Ontario market.
- Broker Outreach: Proactively engage brokers through cold calls, conversations, presentations, meetings, and industry events to build relationships and generate new business opportunities.
- Product Education: Educate brokers on CMLS products and the residential prime offering.
- Activity Tracking: Keep track of sales activities such as calls, presentations, and broker development efforts tied to quarterly performance measures.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with your manager and colleagues across the inside sales team to support business development efforts and share best practices across markets.
What You Bring
- A college or university degree, preferably in Business, Finance, or Marketing.
- A background in the mortgage industry (entry-level or internship experience is welcome), with a sufficient understanding of mortgage concepts, approvals, policies, and guidelines to be effective in the role.
- A sales-first mindset; you’re motivated by relationship-building, pipeline generation, and hitting targets.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to speak with new people and handle difficult conversations.
- A proactive, self-driven approach, with the ability to take initiative and follow through.
- A Mortgage Agent License, or willingness to obtain it within the first 6 months of hire.
Nice-to-Have
- Prior experience in a mortgage renewal, retention, or inside sales role at a lender, bank, or brokerage.
- Existing relationships within the Ontario mortgage broker network.
You Shouldn't Apply If
- You're uncomfortable with cold calling or need a warm lead before making contact
- You need constant direction: this role does provide support, but also requires initiative, follow-through, and comfort with proactive outreach.
- You're not prepared to track your activity – this role has a structured bonus tied to calls, presentations, and funded volume
- You can't commit to being in the Toronto office 3 days per week
Interview Process
- Recruiter Screen (30 min): An intro call with a recruiter to learn about your background and give you a clear picture of the role.
- Discovery Call (30 min): A conversation with the hiring manager to dig into your experience and assess mutual fit.
- Take-Home Case Study and Presentation (45 min): Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a short take-home exercise and present their work as part of the interview process.
- Final Interview (60 min): You’ll meet with an additional stakeholder as part of the final stage of the process.
- Offer Stage: Pending successful background and role-specific vetting checks, you’ll receive a formal offer to join the team.
