The Role

Description and Requirements
Description:
The Junior Database Engineer Intern will have the following responsibilities:

  • Assist in requirements gathering for new and ongoing UI development in multiple systems, creating wireframes and diagrams where applicable.
  • Work with offshore and onshore teams to assist in creating and maintaining agile documentation in accordance with SAFe framework.
  • Perform regular working sessions with stakeholders and senior team members to develop reports, dashboards, interactive visualizations and automated solutions using BI tools including the Microsoft Power Suite.

  • Collaboration: Able to function as part of a multi-faceted team with diverse skill sets. Comfortable interfacing with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels with the ability to solicit and incorporate feedback
  • Communication and Presentation: Ability to clearly articulate oneself when writing or presenting to various audiences with the capability to adapt and anticipate issues, risks and concerns.
  • Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to adjust to and solve emerging problems. Demonstrated ability to translate consumer feedback into functional solutions. Enable change in the organization by comprehending business problems and providing insights to maximize value delivered to stakeholders.


Other Requirements:

  • Exposure to or proficiency in R/Python, DAX and/or SQL for Oracle a plus
  • Familiarity with BI tools and working knowledge of data warehousing


This is a hybrid role, 3 days in office, based out of our Cary, NC office.
About the MetLife Team: This role is within the Global Technology Organization (GTO) on the Global Technology Team.

  • The Global Technology team works to deliver technology capabilities through app development, automation, architecture, maintenance and program mgmt., while ensuring availability of critical apps and improving tech resiliency and currency.
