Description:
The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, proficient computer skills, the ability to work independently and in teams, and have strong research and organizational skills with a keen eye to detail.
The candidate will assist with select ongoing projects, structured as both independent work and collaborative team efforts, and perform responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Conduct and provide research and analysis on a wide variety of insurance, regulatory, legislative, political, and financial services topics.
- Assist Global Government Relations team members with coordination and preparation of meeting briefs, presentations, updates, and reports.
- Support communication, document development, and other projects that reinforce MetLife's general government relations efforts.
- Support MetLife's Grassroots and Political Action programs as needed
Desired Skills/Interests:
- Advanced verbal and written communications skills.
- Organized and detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Strategic thinker with strong execution and problem-solving capabilities.
- Sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, Word, and SharePoint.
- Experience with AI tools and impactful slide presentation design a plus
This is a hybrid role, 3 days in office, based out of our Washington, DC office.
About the MetLife Team: This role is within the Corporate Affairs Organization on the Global Government Relations team.
The Global Government Relations team represent the interests of MetLife before federal and international governments, including regulatory bodies. The team also administers the MetLife employee political action committee (PAC) program and the grassroots network
