Innovation Project Manager

Role Overview

The Innovation Project Manager is responsible for the implementation and operational management of ongoing European and national externally funded healthcare research and innovation projects. The portfolio includes EU-funded programs such as Horizon Europe, IHI, IMI and Digital Europe, as well as national grants and international research collaborations.

The role focuses on the successful delivery of awarded projects, ensuring that contractual commitments, milestones, deliverables and reporting requirements are achieved on time, within quality expectations and in compliance with funding and contractual obligations.

The Innovation Project Manager serves as a key link between internal teams, business stakeholders, project leaders and external consortium partners, working closely with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, Product Management and Program Management functions.

The position requires strong project management, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple complex projects in an international, fast-paced environment.

Experience in healthcare innovation, medical technology, digital health, life sciences or healthcare R&D project management is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage externally funded healthcare research and innovation projects, ensuring delivery of objectives, milestones, and contractual commitments.
• Coordinate project activities across technical, clinical, regulatory, and business teams to support effective project execution.
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, action trackers, and governance processes.
• Monitor progress, deliverables, risks, dependencies, and resource needs, driving timely corrective actions.
• Coordinate technical reporting, project documentation, audits, reviews, and funding authority requirements.
• Act as the primary liaison between GE HealthCare and consortium partners, ensuring strong collaboration and communication.
• Organize and facilitate project meetings, steering committees, consortium activities, and governance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with grant agreements, consortium agreements, internal policies, and funding regulations.
• Support project amendments, scope changes, resource allocation updates, and contractual modifications, assessing project impacts.
• Drive continuous improvement of project management processes, reporting, tools, and knowledge-sharing practices.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3-5+ years of project management, innovation management, R&D coordination, or related experience.
• Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects in international environments.
• Experience coordinating multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong planning, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience with externally funded projects, research consortia, or public-private partnerships is highly desirable.
• Experience in healthcare, medical technology, digital health, life sciences, clinical research, or healthcare innovation is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with EU funding programs (Horizon Europe, IHI, IMI, Digital Europe) is preferred.
