We currently have a vacancy for an Ingestion IT Systems Database Administrator Expert fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Luxembourg. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.
Your tasks
- Lead the migration of the Cellar store from AWS Cloud to another cloud provider, including migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL;
- Migrate existing cloud-based Oracle databases (RDS) to PostgreSQL, including database settings, data, and stored procedures;
- Plan and execute the removal of Oracle Spatial while ensuring continuity of services;
- Ensure data integrity, security, and performance of cloud-based databases during and after migration;
- Provide technical expertise and support for database-related issues;
- Develop, implement, and maintain database backup and recovery procedures;
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and scalability;
- Collaborate with other teams and the data migration lead to ensure database design meets application requirements.
Requirements
- University degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 7 years of relevant working experience;
- At least 5 years of experience with databases, including Oracle, Oracle Spatial, RDS and PostgreSQL;
- At least 3 years of experience in SQL querying, database administration, database design and modelling, database monitoring, ETL, performance tuning and optimization, scripting and automation, database security, and database backup and recovery;
- At least 3 years of experience with RDS and PostgreSQL.
- At least 3 years of experience in cloud migration, including data transfer and synchronization;
- At least 3 years of experience writing system specifications and working with technical documentation;
- At least 2 years of experience in cloud management;
- At least 2 years of experience with Python;
- At least 1 year of experience with Linux systems, including shell scripting and basic administration;
- At least 1 year of experience with network topology concepts, including TCP/IP, load balancers, and proxy servers;
- At least 1 year of experience with containerisation technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes;
- At least 1 year of experience with Oracle Spatial and AWS Cloud services;
- Excellent command of the English language.
