Job DescriptionJob Purpose:
Smiths Detection Systems Pvt Ltd, Bangalore is seeking a dedicated Onsite IT Hardware Infrastructure Support Engineer to provide full-time, onsite support for its IT infrastructure. The role involves managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IT hardware and network systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations for end-users and the organization
Duties:
- Infrastructure Management
- Assist in evaluating and recommending purchases of system hardware and software products.
- Provide Tier II support for escalated IT issues.
- End User Support
- Supporting M365, Installing & maintaining software on desktops, laptops, and servers
- Administer web servers (IIS)
- Network Support
- Configure networking devices and restore configurations for replaced devices.
- Assign and manage IP addresses for users and Wi-Fi networks.
- Proactively detect faults and address potential failures in LAN and Wi-Fi networks
- Install and maintain firewalls, applying required security policies
- Maintain CCTV recording storage (with expert support for advanced issues).
- Follow best information security practices (passwords, backups, server room security, license monitoring).
- Maintain server room security and log authorized personnel access.
- Asset Management
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Education: Engineering IT Diploma or Graduate
- Experience: 3-5 years in IT hardware infrastructure support
- Good team work and ability to work independently.
- Knowledge networking including HTTP, SMTP, DNS and DHCP
- Familiar with Microsoft OS and Office production
- Hands-on Windows Server & virtual environment

Skills Required
- Engineering IT Diploma or Graduate
- 3-5 years in IT hardware infrastructure support
- Knowledge of networking protocols including HTTP, SMTP, DNS and DHCP
- Familiarity with Microsoft OS and Microsoft Office
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server and virtual environments
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365
- Experience administering IIS web servers
- Experience configuring networking devices, firewalls, and Wi‑Fi
- Ability to maintain server room security, backups, and license monitoring
- Good teamwork and ability to work independently
