The I&O AI Automation Engineer for Cytiva is responsible for designing, building, and deploying AI-powered agents and intelligent automations that proactively improve the reliability, speed, and efficiency of IT Infrastructure & Operations services globally. This role serves as I&O's embedded AI capability — identifying high-value automation opportunities across all I&O pillars (End User Compute, Network Engineering, Cloud Hosting, Service Operations, OT Convergence, and ITSM) and turning them into production-grade solutions that measurably reduce operational toil and accelerate service delivery.
This position reports to the Director End User Compute, part of the Infrastructure and Operations team and will be located onsite in Krakow, Poland.
What you will do:
Design, build, and deploy AI agents and automations using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Azure AI services, and scripting frameworks (PowerShell, Python) to address I&O operational use cases — including incident auto-triage, change request routing, self-service provisioning, proactive alerting, and KPI/metric auto-generation.
Identify and prioritize automation opportunities across all I&O pillars by partnering with L2 and L3 leaders in Network Engineering, Cloud Hosting, EUC, Service Operations, OT, and ITSM to map workflows, quantify toil, and maintain a backlog of AI use cases ranked by business value and feasibility.
Develop self-healing and proactive operations capabilities by building agent-driven automations that detect, diagnose, and remediate common infrastructure issues (e.g., device disconnect patterns, patching failures, cloud cost anomalies) before they impact end users — aligned with Cytiva's IT2030 vision of policy-as-code and agent-driven orchestration.
Create reusable AI patterns, prompt libraries, and automation templates that enable I&O engineers across all pillars to adopt and extend AI-powered workflows, accelerating the shift from manual operations to intelligent automation at scale.
Serve as I&O's internal AI enablement resource — upskilling infrastructure engineers on prompt engineering, agent design patterns, Copilot Studio best practices, and the safe, governed use of AI tools consistent with Cytiva's AI governance framework and Danaher's DBS principles of continuous improvement.
Measure and report automation impact by tracking key metrics (hours saved, tickets deflected, mean-time-to-resolve improvement, cost avoidance) for each deployed agent or automation, and present outcomes to I&O leadership through regular business reviews.
Partner with Digital, Data & AI (DXDA) and Security, Risk & Compliance teams to ensure all I&O agents and automations comply with enterprise AI governance standards, data boundary requirements, GxP considerations, and the EU AI Act where applicable.
Who you are:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, operations, or systems engineering, with demonstrated hands-on delivery of automation solutions in an enterprise environment (cloud, network, endpoint, or service management).
Exposure to AI, machine learning, and/or automation technologies through work, education, or personal exploration, with a strong desire to further develop capability in this area.
Able to provide examples of using AI to drive meaningful improvements or solve problems.
A strong collaborator with the ability to engage engineering and operations stakeholders, translating requirements into scalable automation solutions
Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot ecosystem, Power Platform and/or Azure AI services in a production enterprise context with supported programming languages.
It would be a plus if you also possess:
Experience in life sciences, manufacturing, or regulated industries (GxP, SOX).
Familiarity with AIOps, observability platforms (Datadog, Azure Monitor, Splunk), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep).
Exposure to Power Platform administration, enabling Copilot governance flows, establishing and enforcing AI guardrails for copilot environments.
Microsoft certifications in AI or Power Platform (AI-102, PL-200, PL-600).
Experience with DevOps/CI-CD pipelines for deploying and versioning AI agents.
Track record of quantifying automation ROI and presenting to senior leadership.
