Who we are looking for

We are seeking a ServiceNow Configuration Compliance Engineer to support the implementation, operationalization, and ongoing management of the ServiceNow Configuration Compliance module within the Secure Configuration Management program. The ideal candidate combines strong ServiceNow platform knowledge with practical experience translating secure configuration requirements into scalable workflows, data integrations, reporting, and sustainable operating processes. This role will partner with platform, security, infrastructure, compliance, and control teams to establish reliable configuration compliance processes and improve visibility into control performance, exceptions, and remediation.

Why this role is important to us

Secure configuration management depends on accurate asset data, well-defined baselines, consistent assessment processes, and clear ownership of remediation. This role will help establish ServiceNow as a central platform for managing configuration compliance activities, connecting technical results to configuration items and accountable owners, and enabling repeatable reporting and governance. The position is important to improving the traceability, consistency, and sustainability of the Secure Configuration Management program.

What you will be responsible for

As a ServiceNow Configuration Compliance Engineer, you will:

• Assist with the design, configuration, implementation, testing, and ongoing administration of the ServiceNow Configuration Compliance module.

• Translate Secure Configuration Management requirements, control objectives, and operating procedures into ServiceNow workflows, data structures, business rules, and reporting requirements.

• Define and operationalize end-to-end processes for onboarding configuration baselines, ingesting assessment results, assigning ownership, tracking remediation, managing exceptions, and evidencing closure.

• Partner with ServiceNow platform owners and administrators to ensure solutions align with enterprise platform standards, release management practices, security requirements, and support models.

• Integrate configuration compliance data with the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), asset inventories, scanning platforms, baseline repositories, and other authoritative data sources.

• Improve the accuracy and traceability of relationships among findings, configuration items, applications, infrastructure platforms, owners, baselines, and control requirements.

• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, metrics, and management views covering compliance posture, configuration drift, unresolved findings, exceptions, remediation progress, and data-quality issues.
• Create process documentation, data mappings, user stories, test scenarios, operating procedures, training materials, and support documentation for the module.

• Coordinate user acceptance testing, defect resolution, release readiness, and post-implementation stabilization for new capabilities and enhancements.

• Monitor ongoing process performance and data quality, identify control or workflow gaps, and drive continuous improvement with business and technical stakeholders.

• Support audit, risk, and governance requests by producing clear evidence of process execution, ownership, decisions, and remediation status.

• Provide day-to-day subject matter support to configuration compliance users and facilitate effective adoption across infrastructure and application teams.

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role:

• Strong hands-on knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and experience implementing or administering ServiceNow Configuration Compliance capabilities.

• Ability to translate security, compliance, and operational requirements into practical platform designs and repeatable workflows.

• Strong understanding of CMDB concepts, configuration items, relationships, data quality, reconciliation, and ownership mapping.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to data integrity, control traceability, and sustainable process design.

• Clear communication and collaboration skills across security, risk, audit, ServiceNow, infrastructure, application, and leadership stakeholders.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• 7+ years of experience in ServiceNow, configuration management, technology risk, security engineering, platform engineering, or related roles.

• Demonstrated experience implementing, configuring, or supporting ServiceNow modules and enterprise workflows; direct Configuration Compliance module experience is strongly preferred.

• Working knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB, data imports and integrations, reporting and dashboards, roles and access controls, testing, and release management.

• Experience with secure configuration baselines, configuration assessment or scanning tools, remediation tracking, exception management, and audit evidence.

• Experience with data analysis or integration technologies such as SQL, Python, REST APIs, IntegrationHub, Power BI, or Splunk is beneficial.

• Knowledge of security and control frameworks such as NIST, CIS Benchmarks, or related enterprise control standards is preferred.

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator is preferred; ServiceNow implementation, application development, CMDB, or ITOM-related certifications are beneficial.

Additional requirements

The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a cross-functional environment, managing competing priorities, documenting decisions, and supporting both implementation activities and ongoing operations. Experience introducing a new ServiceNow capability into an established governance and control environment is highly desirable

Work Requirement

• Hybrid work arrangement in accordance with company and local office requirements.

• Standard business hours, with flexibility to support planned releases, testing, or issue resolution when required.

Salary Range:

$90,000 - $157,500 Annual
