Position Overview

 

In this Service Now development role, you will provide hands-on software engineering and system architecture leadership for the Enterprise. Developing and maintaining our alert rules, flows, and inbound data flows to conform with industry best practices ensuring timely response to the events in our environment.

This is a hands-on position with visibility to the highest levels of Evernorth management who are motivated to see the successful results of our efforts. The solution focuses on enabling this change using the latest technologies and development techniques.

Responsibilities

The Infrastructure Engineering Advisor role for the Machine Intelligence Engineering team will be responsible for day-to-day operational support of incidents and requests related to the following enterprise information technologies: Service Now, Various Monitoring including but not limited to Dynatrace, New Relic, Splunk, Aternity etc..  The person in this role will work closely with our Operations counterparts to maintain and support the infrastructures needed to keep our monitoring highly available and secure for our internal Cigna colleagues. To ensure the success of the entire team, the Infrastructure Engineering Advisor will need to collaborate with teams across the organization to resolve technology issues and assist with enterprise projects.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Provide architecture, engineering and administration within Service Now
  • Open and review support cases with vendors to resolve minor and major product related
    issues
  • Document production support issues/procedures/tasks
  • Proactively monitor and manage our supported products and technologies to
    ensure availability, security, and agility for the Enterprise
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call support escalations when needed, including weekends and
    holidays with the expectation of responding to all applicable EOCC managed incidents
  • Assist with the development of automated processes for repeatable work completed by the team

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. 
  • Strong influencing/negotiation skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills. 
  • Strong time and project management skills. 
  • Familiarity with most of the following technologies- JavaScript, Python, API development
  • Familiarity with agile methodology

Required Experience & Education: 

  • 11-13 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or better preferred
  • Service Now Administration and Development
  • Extensive experience with Service Now Eventing, Alerting, and Incident Modules
  • Ability to develop alert rules and flows within ServiceNow
  • Coordinate and support all ServiceNow event management plugin and release upgrades
  • Implement integration solutions for event and incident management in ServiceNow.
  • Ability to participate in simultaneous projects and prioritize time effectively
  • Ability to convey complex concepts to individuals of varying technical backgrounds
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills
  • Honesty, Integrity and Courage

Desired Experience:  

  • Service Now Reporting
  • Ability to think strategically, analyse and interpret market and consumer information. 
  • Intense curiosity, high intellectual and analytical horsepower, passionate pursuit of analytics driven insights 

Location & Hours of Work

Hybrid – US Eastern 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
