You are part of the Vanderlande Value Office team, providing 2nd level support and specific technical expertise to customers and colleagues in the APAC region, reporting to the LCS Director SEA & Head of Value Office in Kuala Lumpur.
You profile:
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or electric – electronics, or related other fields
- 8+ years of work experience in an IT and/or logistical automation environment (preferable)
- Affinity with IT and Industrial Automation and interest in logistic processes.
- Knowledge and experience with Linux commands, Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle Databases, Application Servers, Java code and Python scripting is a pre.
- Preferably you have good understanding of IT service management practices (ITIL v3/v4)
- Enthusiastic result-driven professional.
- Analytically strong and positively critical.
- Proactive, pragmatic and hands-on attitude.
- Strong communication skills with good command of the English language.
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
- May have to work after hours and weekends as the operation runs 24/7.
- Preferred IT certifications (e.g. CCNA).
Key responsibilities:
- Identify problems and perform root cause analysis of IT infrastructure in Vanderlande baggage handling systems, in close collaboration with other teams.
- Review system and application logs to trace issues and gather information for analysis.
- Develop and maintain customer-specific validation test processes and reports for change control log.
- Triage all events reported and maintain incident reports.
- Troubleshoot network related problems on WIFI, cabling, switches, routers, firewalls and perform updates/upgrades.
- Troubleshoot hardware related problems on servers, clients an (field) peripherals) and perform updates/upgrades.
- Troubleshoot hardware related problems on Storage Area Networks including HP 3PAR, Primera, Alletra and perform updates/upgrades.
- Troubleshoot virtualisation related problems on VMWare including VMWare-HA, vSAN, backup/recovery with Veeam and perform updates.
- Troubleshoot operating system issues on Linux including Linux-HA clustering ("legacy"), analyse logging, free disk space, recovery of files and perform updates.
- Troubleshoot operating system issues on Windows including Active Directory services, analyse logging, free disk space, recovery of files and perform updates.
- Troubleshoot closed circuit television systems including camera's, video management system and/or storage and perform updates.
- Can use IT monitoring tool to asses the health of the IT infrastructure and its software, is able to finetune monitoring and add checks/perform updates.
- Can assess the security of the environment by analysing system/firewall logging, performing antivirus updates, perform vulnerability assessments and patch outcome.
- Deploy and maintain IT Monitoring Solutions.
- Support and coordinate activities to update and upgrade live environments.
- Support the implementation of new service agreements.
- Support and train local support teams to strengthen their capabilities and toolsets.
- Advise the customer on actions to minimize equipment downtime.
- Planning and delivering preventive maintenance tasks & assigned change tasks (back-ups, patch execution, etc.)
- Creating documentation such as manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams, work instructions and communication drawings
- Work with other team members, Service Desks, and customer teams to continuously improve our IT solutions and standards.
