Lambda, The Superintelligence Cloud, is a leader in AI cloud infrastructure serving tens of thousands of customers. Our customers range from AI researchers to enterprises and hyperscalers. Lambda's mission is to make compute as ubiquitous as electricity and give everyone the power of superintelligence. One person, one GPU.

If you'd like to build the world's best AI cloud, join us.

*Note: This position requires presence in our San Francisco or upcoming New York City office location 4 days per week; Lambda’s designated work from home day is currently Tuesday.

As Lambda continues its rapid growth, and our data center footprint continues scaling, our legal team is expanding its infrastructure, corporate development, and power capabilities. We are seeking an Infrastructure & Energy Transaction Counsel to serve as a primary deal lawyer on our multi-billion-dollar-scale physical infrastructure investments.

In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of the legal structuring, drafting, and negotiation of complex transactions across our portfolio of leased data centers and the data centers we develop ourselves through land and power acquisitions. You'll partner closely with leaders across strategy, site development, power, engineering, procurement, and finance to execute the infrastructure deals that will shape Lambda's next chapter of growth. This role demands high responsiveness, versatility, and absolute ownership, and you thrive under exactly that kind of pressure.

What You’ll Do

  • Deal Negotiation & Structuring: Lead the commercial negotiation and documentation of development deals, complex site leasing, real estate acquisitions, joint ventures as well as real estate and project financing.

  • Power & Utility Management: Structure and manage specialized contracts critical to hyperscale deployments, including corporate Power Purchase Agreements, utility interconnection agreements, behind-the-meter generation frameworks, and storage systems.

  • Construction & Project Development: Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, engineering services agreements, and design-build documents tailored for infrastructure handling gigawatts of power.

  • Finance & Incentive Support: Partner with corporate development, tax and other teams to support project finance elements, tax incentives, and intricate lease arrangements that enable massive capital deployment.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align legal risk frameworks closely with technical engineering, security, business development, and strategic financial models.

  • Outside Counsel Oversight: Direct and manage specialized outside counsel on complex regulatory or regional matters while maintaining strictly focused in-house strategic judgment.

You

  • 6+ years of legal experience running complex commercial transactions, ideally split between an elite AmLaw law firm and an innovative, fast-moving infrastructure or technology company.

  • Deep infrastructure expertise with a proven track record of managing a heavy workload, prioritizing risk efficiently, and closing multi-hundred-million- and billion-dollar transactions on accelerated schedules.

  • Strong technical and energy market literacy, displaying a clear understanding of data centers, wholesale electricity markets (e.g., ERCOT, PJM), utility interconnections, and emerging AI hardware stacks.

  • Solution-oriented commercial mindset with an ability to demonstrate sound, definitive judgment in high-stakes, highly ambiguous situations.

  • Elite communication abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to accurately and concisely bridge technical engineering needs with legal protections.

  • A JD from an accredited law school and an active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.
