IT Technician

Job Summary:
DT Professional Services is seeking an entry-level IT Technician to support our NSWC team in Corona, CA! You will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our employees and clients, ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, networks, and software. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support, excellent problem-solving & communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. There is an estimated 30% travel per year, up to 4 weeks at a time onboard ships (underway or at port) within the United States.
Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripherals
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in a timely and efficient manner
• Perform regular maintenance and updates on IT equipment and software
• Assist in the setup and deployment of new hardware and software
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controlsMonitor system performance and ensure optimal operation
• Document and track support requests and resolutions using a ticketing system
• Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT best practices and tools
• Collaborate with other IT team members to develop and implement IT policies and procedures
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to provide innovative solutions
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Basic Qualifications:

• A DoD issued active Secret Clearance (Must be active to be considered)
• CompTIA Security+ certification (Must already possess to be considered)
• Ability to travel up to 30% a year up to 4 weeks at a time onboard ships (underway or at port)
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, sit and move around in tight spaces
• Ability to lift 35lbs - 80lbs with ease to transport equipment to and from U.S. Naval vessels
• 2+ years of experience in IT support or a similar role
• Proficiency in Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Linux operating systems
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and troubleshooting
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and other common business applications
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and tools
• Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS or Azure
• Ability to script and automate tasks using PowerShell or similar tools
• Additional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, etc
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

The compensation for this position: $32/hour.
