Information Systems Risk Specialist

What You Will Be Doing:
Perform independent, objective reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls for existing information systems and IS operations. Participate in groups assuring internal controls and security are considered in new application development. Test all aspects of information systems security, reliability and integrity to identify weaknesses and recommend best practices. Perform audits in non-IS areas requiring data analysis to identify business practice deviations and to detect fraud. Design basic information systems audit programs and the IS components of business department audit programs.
What We're Looking For:
- A strong background in information systems required, including verifiable knowledge of TCP/IP and web technology, client/server technology platforms (Windows, Linux), application controls, as well as technology design and development.
- Degree in computer science, MIS or related field, or an IS concentration certificate, CISA or CISSP designation, or documented equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical skills to perform complex analysis in an information systems environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills to prepare clear, objective audit reports, and to otherwise communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Ability to exercise maturity, good judgment and organization to timely and independently complete complex audit projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with a variety of persons throughout the Companies in performing audits and resolving information system issues.
- Ability to maintain strict confidence in handling sensitive information and investigating sensitive matters.
- Ability to maintain schedules, work on multiple projects simultaneously and be flexible to address unanticipated work assignments and management requests and work well with others.
- Valid driver's license required for periodic travel.
- Ability to perform essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Please remember that this range is the starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.
