The Information Protection, Lead will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive information protection strategies and programs. This individual will play a critical role in safeguarding our organization’s sensitive data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.
You'll be responsible for:

Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive Insider Threat Program (ITP) to detect, deter, and respond to internal security risks.

Establish frameworks for user behavior analytics (UBA), anomaly detection, and insider risk assessments.

Contributing to and supporting the development of a holistic information protection strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Support the consistent application of information protection policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.

Maintaining an information classification framework to categorize information assets based on sensitivity and criticality.

Implementing, managing, and or supporting UEBA and DLP technologies and solutions to monitor, detect, and prevent the unauthorized exfiltration of sensitive data.

Contributing to and supporting the implementation of access control mechanisms to enforce privilege and ensure that access to sensitive data is restricted to authorized individuals.

Partner with Information Security Teams to fine-tune detection rules and enhance security monitoring.

Participate as required in security incident response efforts for internal security events.

Sundry information protection related duties as assigned.
You bring:

A bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science or a related field.

5+ years of experience in information security, with a focus on insider threat management and data security.

Strong expertise in insider threat frameworks (CERT, NITTF) and security best practices.

In-depth knowledge of data protection regulations and standards and experience implementing controls to achieve compliance.

Hands-on experience with information protection technologies, such as UEBA / DLP.

Strong understanding of data classification methodologies and experience developing data handling policies and procedures.

Ability to participate in sensitive investigations and confidential security incidents.

Excellent communication (written, verbal, technical and non-technical), with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Proven ability to lead insider threat and information protection initiatives, drive results, and adapt to evolving security threats, risks, and business requirements.

You have working experience with Cybersecurity Frameworks and industry standards: ISO 27001/2, PCI DSS, CIS, NIST 800 Series.

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GIAC GCTI are preferred.

Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
