SMX is seeking an Information Assurance Specialist (IAS) to assess and authorize coordinate, advise, and assist with Risk Management Framework (RMF), develop a Plan of Action and Milestones for resolving system and network deficiencies. As an IAS you will ensure information compliance, and the validation of IT systems to support the SOCPAC Cybersecurity program, its Component Commands, TSOCs, and deployed forces.
The Ideal candidate will possess the ability to ensure the integrity of customer systems by identifying and mitigating potential shortcomings and vulnerabilities. Additionally, the Information Assurance Specialist will perform security evaluations and vulnerability assessments using the DOD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Nessus vulnerability scanning tool and liaise with network and system administrators to correct identified deficiencies.
This position requires TS/SCI which requires US citizenship for work on a DoD contract.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide Subject Matter Expert consultation to SOCPAC personnel regarding SI equipment capabilities and limitations:
- Answer RFIs regarding current and possible future SI equipment
- Travel CONUS to Aircraft maintenance facilities to ensure integrations allow the proper function and maximize SI equipment capabilities
- Travel to SOCPAC HQ or other locations to participate in planning conferences or other meetings and events requiring SI SME input
- Maintain SI equipment installed on aircraft:
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure mission readiness and discover problems that could degrade mission effectiveness
- Develop and follow SOPs describing maintenance procedures for SI equipment
- Communicate with SOCPAC J2 regarding any SI equipment deficiencies
- Work with vendors as directed by SOCPAC to facilitate the repair of SI equipment
- Assist M&L personnel in the inventory and accountability of SI equipment supporting the deployed aircraft
- Conduct regular inventory inspections to ensure accountability and awareness of equipment locations and status
- Mentor Active-Duty SI Riders:
- Conduct training with riders to enable the proper employment of the aircraft SI mission systems
- Fly with riders to over the shoulder mentor riders during mission flights
- Be present for the launch of every flight to ensure SI mission systems are functioning properly
- Be available during mission flights to answer questions via mIRC chat for SI Riders when not flying
- Be present for the recovery of every flight to address any SI mission system issues that occurred during flight
- Perform the duties of Airborne SIGINT Operator:
- Maintain current Mode 1, 2, & 3 airborne certifications for each deployment
- Maintain expert proficiency with all airborne SI equipment supporting SOCPAC ISR COCO aircraft
- Ensure ISR crew members are aware of aircraft SI capabilities and limitations
- Perform other duties as necessary
Required Skills & Experience
- Clearance required: Top Secret with SCI
- Bachelor’s degree in computer or systems science discipline
- Experience: 8+ years of progressive, relevant experience
- Must hold and maintain a valid US Passport

- Mastery skills in Microsoft Office Suite Programs
- Must hold and maintain SECURITY+ Certification
- Comprehensive understanding of company philosophy and processes
- High level of learning, strategic thinking, team building, conflict resolution and time management
- Excellent communication skills, verbally and in written format, for briefing and presentation delivery to program employees, management, and customers
- Must be able to take initiative and work independently
- Must have the ability to multitask and work effectively, both individually and as a member of a project team, while ensuring timely completion of assignments
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers
Desired Skills & Experience
- CISSP or equivalent certification
- Working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Knowledge of the Telos Xacta or eMASS system
- Knowledge and experience with DoD IA processes and policies preferred (eg, CJCSM 651001, Incident Response and other IA policies)

$100,700—$167,900 USD
