The Role: Industrial Engineering Intern
As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will support the GMC Area Study Project by assisting in operational analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. This role provides hands-on exposure to industrial engineering practices, manufacturing processes, and data-driven decision-making aimed at improving productivity and efficiency within the GMC area.
What You’ll Do
Conduct cycle time studies and evaluate current operational processes.
Collect, organize, and analyze production and workflow data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Support routing analysis and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Assist in productivity improvement projects within the GMC area.
Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to gather information and validate findings.
Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation of study results and recommendations.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support implementation activities as required.
What We Seek
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Able to commit to an internship period of at least 24 weeks.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum CGPA of 3.00
Outstanding Candidates Will Have
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles.
Experience with statistical analysis, time studies, or process mapping through coursework or projects.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial engineering concepts.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
A proactive mindset with a passion for solving operational challenges and driving efficiency improvements.
