What you will do:
- Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Create Investment Project Proposals (IPP) for the purchase of new equipment and facility improvements, including calculating costs and justifying purchases by assessing savings and efficiency.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Resolves deviation reports concerning product or material issues with plant personnel, including maintenance personnel, to direct equipment adjustments.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Distributes product/part drawings to appropriate plant personnel.
- Review maintenance activities to coordinate the preventive maintenance and implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Other duties may be assigned.
What we look for:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field from a four-year college or university.
- Two (2) + years of Manufacturing Industry Experience.
- Knowledge and experience of sheet metal manufacturing processes.
- Experience in AutoCAD, designing fixtures and layout improvements.
- Required knowledge of MS Office products: Office, Excel.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and a proven track record with application.
- Experience with MS PowerPoint and MS Access is a plus.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
