YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • Develop A-class surface models in SOLIDWORKS and create detailed production part drawings. Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability while maintaining aesthetic and functional integrity.
  • Prepare and lead engaging design review presentations to key stakeholders. Effectively communicate design concepts, rationale, and visualizations to harvest valuable feedback for design improvements.
  • Support, and sometimes lead, all phases of the Product Development Process from conceptual development to production and installation.
  • Participate actively in brainstorming sessions and design reviews, offering creative insights and technical expertise. Contribute innovative ideas that align with the development project goals.
  • Compile comprehensive Technical Data Packages (TDP) used to manufacture fibreglass water slide parts.
  • Develop test plans and execute hands-on testing of prototype and production components to verify functional performance and compliance with applicable standards. Document results, analyze findings, and provide design feedback to inform iterative product improvements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align on design objectives, project timelines, and deliverables. Foster effective communication and collaboration to achieve project milestones and ensure successful product launches.
  • Maintain organized documentation of design iterations, revisions, and technical specifications using PDM Vault.
  • Manage change management processes in ARAS to track and implement design modifications efficiently.
  • Read, interpret, and apply relevant design codes and standards to ensure all designs comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Stay updated on changes in standards and integrate them into project designs as necessary.
  • Utilize rapid prototyping techniques to create physical models for design validation and iterative testing. Ensure designs meet performance criteria and user expectations through rigorous testing and feedback analysis.
  • Provide on-site assistance during field installations and ride verification processes. Ensure design specifications are met, address technical challenges promptly, and collaborate with installation teams to achieve project delivery goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques. Bring innovative solutions and best practices to the design team, contributing to continuous improvement and competitiveness in the market.
  • On-site product and ride verification; international travel required (up to 15%)
  • Perform activities in the office - 40hrs per week

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with a background in product development, product design, and tool design
  • Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS surface modeling with knowledge of AutoCAD for exporting and integrating 3D designs into usable blocks.
  • Experience in creating detailed production part drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate and visualize design concepts effectively.
  • Familiarity with PDM Vault and ARAS for managing design documentation and change management.
  • Strong team-oriented mentality with a proactive solutions mindset and a willingness to assist in any capacity.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping and physical model-making techniques.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site support and field installations.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Salary range: $70,000 - $85,000
  • 3 weeks paid vacation

Skills Required
