Title: Indirect Tax Associate

SUMMARY: The Indirect Tax Associate I is an entry-level tax accounting role that will support routine tax functions that includes data exports/imports, manipulation, entry, and reconciliation. This position will mainly assist the compliance department in completing periodic return files and payments related to sales, telecommunications, excise and other indirect tax types.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Use accounting proficiency to reconcile indirect tax balances.
- Use excel proficiency to read, organize & finalize sales data.
- Use digital and analytical proficiency to navigate and research tax accounts.
- Complete global periodic indirect tax returns.
- Work with General Ledgers, other financial statements, and research tax related inquiries thereof.
- Calculate, post, and ensure accuracy of indirect tax accounts.
- Provide administrative support to the tax dept & other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
COMPETENCY:
- Ability to read and manipulate large sets of data such as Sales registers, General ledgers, Income Statements & Balance Sheets.
- Outstanding organizational, analytical, and written communication skills.
- Connects well with others and highly collaborative team approach to work.
- Excellent individual initiative and objective-oriented drive.
- Ability to handle difficult situations with a high degree of diplomacy and composure.
- Bilingual (English a must)
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance or Accounting. An Associate’s degree in accounting may be considered with the appropriate experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- If Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, No minimum professional experience required.
- If Associate’s degree or equivalent, 2 years of professional experience in general accounting duties including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel (Advanced skills are required).
- Knowledge of GAAP required.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, QuickBooks, and large ERP systems a plus.
