What you'll do:
- Review requisitions and to permit competitive procurement of non-complex items
- Buys in accordance with requisitions and requests
- With guidance from Category Manager, seeks new sources of supply
- Review, and compare price, quantity, quality, availability, and terms and conditions, payment terms
- Issues purchase orders to procure designated types of expenditures
- Prepares revisions to purchase orders when requirements change
- Monitors orders and expedites delivery
- Reconciles discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders
- Assists receiving personnel in resolving supplier issues
- Maintains records, source information, and purchasing reference files
- Ensures all documentation requirements for new suppliers are filed in the document management system
- Ensures that risks related to services and supplies are identified and communicated
- Perform other related duties as assigned
What it takes:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Detail oriented for accuracy of work performed
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Robust analytical skills
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of upstream and downstream functions throughout a business
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the supply chain
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office products
