Position Summary:

Responsible for all aspects of source selection and procurement associated with the Company's needs for new product development and prototype needs, indirect materials and services, fixed assets and tooling, and select production materials and services, to be secured at cost, quality, and delivery competitive levels consistent with Company policy and performance standards.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Initiates purchase orders and amendments for parts, services, and/or special tools; arranges for submission and inspection of sample products as required; close coordination with Engineering, Project Management and Operations to assure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities

  • Secures and analyzes quotations, negotiates prices and terms with suppliers, and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, delivery competitiveness, and project specific requirements for assigned responsibilities.

  • Responsible for populating part attributes and tracking sheets used for planning and project coordination

  • Coordinates as appropriate, quality matters and engineering changes/developments between internal stakeholders and suppliers

  • Coordinates development schedules for all commercial related tasks and activities

  • Assists in the resolution of production, design, quality, and/or delivery problems

  • Issue supplier Request for Quote and Purchase Orders for prototypes, services, and other indirect items

  • Negotiates Tooling and Development Cost

  • Identify new candidate suppliers to support business needs and requirements, reviewing supplier commercial and technical capabilities

  • Create and manage ASL entries for new candidate suppliers

  • Manages asset tagging database as needed

  • Manages capex purchases and AFE process as needed

  • Manages indirect purchasing for multiple global locations

  • Compile, track, and report on risk buy expenditures associated with new product development launches

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Internal and External Customer Mindset: Exceptional customer experience is primary focus while performing job duties. Quality is a top priority.

  • Effective time management and organizational skills

  • Effective analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Familiarity with engineering part drawings of mechanical and electronics components and assemblies

  • Strong cost and commercial negotiation skills

  • Detail oriented and able to adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of ERP Systems: Oracle, SAP and similar systems

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • FileMaker experience a plus

Position Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with emphasis in business administration, economics, and/or engineering

Experience:

  • 2 years of progressively responsible purchasing and materials control experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment, and/or 2 years of project management or project coordination experience.

  • Bike, action sport, outdoor product or electronics industry preferred

Compensation Range

$59,514 - $81,832

The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Fox reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
