Position Summary:
The India & SEA Marketing Manager is a key position within the APAC regional marketing organization. They are responsible for crafting the broader marketing strategy for the India & SEA region and ensure proper execution of it. This individual will support, facilitate and enable India & SEA sales teams and Channel Partners to help reach company’s revenue goals, through translation of market insights and product knowledge into competitive strategies and tactics.
The India & SEA Marketing Manager will work closely with his/her marketing and commercial colleagues to ensure alignment of focus areas and to support of the region’s commercial goals. This individual will also ensure that the activities executed are in line and contributing to the overall targets of Illumina’s global marketing organization.
Ideal candidates for this position will have strong knowledge of the genomics market in India & SEA and demonstrated success and operational experience in this region. The candidate will also need the ability to work and collaborate across multi-disciplinary, international teams and cultivate key partnerships to support strategic programs. Successful candidates will combine strong scientific understanding with strategic analysis, business acumen, marketing and leadership skills.
Position Responsibilities:
- Formulate the overall region marketing strategy to support Illumina’s commercial goals. Develop go to market strategies and drive execution of those strategies with clear milestones and action plans.
- Collaborate with the broader marketing & commercial team to execute marketing programs, events and campaigns related to key segments and products. Ensure that there is alignment of activities and product strategies internally, with SCPs and other parties as well as clear metrics associated with delivery of these activities.
- Assist SCPs by providing product value positioning and messaging and ensure alignment around sales messaging, customer targeting, use cases and market segment prioritization.
- Solicit and communicate voice of region and voice of customer internally to inform product development team; recommend new product development, product or service enhancements to address needs for improving sales potential and customer satisfaction in India and SEA.
- Responsible for collection, measurement evaluation and communication of information relating to the effectiveness of marketing activities carried out in these subregions.
- Collaborate with commercial management and operations, to identify and help develop and deliver sales trainings to the India & SEA SCP team.
- Summarize and communicate regional field information, especially as it relates to competitive activity in their region.
- Solicit and consolidate input from SCPs and field staff to provide in-depth market analysis and insights back to Illumina regarding customer and market opportunities and challenges.
- Create, maintain and provide visibility to KOL networks.

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills:
- Minimum of 8 years of life science marketing experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; 3 years with a PhD degree or equivalent experience.
- MBA degree would be a plus
- Previous hands-on experience executing successful marketing programs in India
- Experience and understanding of genetic technologies and how they can be utilized in in a variety of applications.
- Experience in strategic consulting or product management would be welcomed
- Ability to influence across an organization at all levels, including previous experience in a highly matrixed organization would be preferred.
- Strong project management skills and ability to work both collaboratively and independently to drive results
- Must have exceptional written & verbal communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel up to 30-50%
