Essential Responsibilities:
Financial Consolidation, Reporting & Insights
- Own the overall consolidation, reporting, analytics, and insights for the Vernova Corporate income statement, ensuring financial visibility is timely, accurate, and actionable for leadership decision-making – including headcount and cost analytics
- Lead quarterly closes and planning sessions (forecasts, budget, strategic plan) for Vernova Corporate, delivering variance analysis and forward-looking insights that articulate outlook vs. plans
- Own annual reporting and forecasting process for costs allocated into the business segments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, as well as ensuring the accuracy of the recurring monthly allocation
- Serve as a go-to resource for resolving financial issues that span teams, applying judgment and analytical rigor to drive clarity and resolution
- Drive horizontal efficiencies across Corporate Ops. finance through standardization and continuous improvement
Operating Mechanisms & Process Excellence
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve the standard operating mechanisms and tools for Corporate FP&A – ensuring rigor, consistency, and scalability
- Partner with the Vernova Corporate Finance leader to define and execute the FP&A operating model, including cadence, templates, and reporting standards
- Lead process improvement initiatives that reduce cycle times, eliminate manual work, and improve data quality and accessibility
Transformation & Modernization
- Champion AI and automation initiatives within Corporate FP&A, identifying high-impact use cases and driving implementation from concept through adoption
- Lead Corporate elements of the ledger-based reporting project and ensuing sub-projects, ensuring finance requirements are clearly defined and outcomes improve reporting accuracy and speed
- Stay current on emerging FP&A technologies and bring forward recommendations that position the team at the forefront of finance innovation
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Partnership
- Partner with the Total Company FP&A leader and segment FP&A teams to align on reporting standards, resolve cross-segment financial issues, and share best practices that elevate the broader finance organization
- Collaborate with other finance functions, including Controllership, Investor Relations, Tax, and Treasury, to address and resolve any cross-finance issues, improve processes, and ensure consistency and alignment
- Act as a connector across teams – proactively identifying opportunities to improve coordination, reduce duplication, and drive consistency Vernova Corporate finance practices
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a small, high-impact team (1 full-time direct report and 1 contractor), setting clear priorities, providing coaching, and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
- Manage team capacity and prioritization across competing demands—balancing day-to-day deliverables with transformation initiatives
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree Finance, Accounting, or MBA required.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive finance experience, with depth in corporate FP&A, consolidation, or financial reporting. Demonstrated financial modeling skills and proficiency with planning/reporting tools (e.g., HFM/OneStream, SAP, Power BI, or similar).
- Proven ability to manage operating mechanisms and drive process improvement in a complex, matrixed environment.
- Experience leading or mentoring others, even in small-team settings.
- Strong executive communication skills, including ability to distill complex financial data into clear, concise narratives for senior leadership.
