Your Role at Vantive

 

The Incentive Compensation Process & Systems Lead is responsible for the design, governance, optimization, and execution of incentive compensation processes, systems, and reporting capabilities. This role serves as the subject matter expert for sales compensation operations, partnering across Commercial Excellence, Sales Leadership, Finance, HR, IT, and external vendors to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant compensation administration.

 

The role is an agile change-management resource in driving process excellence, system enhancements, automation, analytics, organizational design support, quota deployment, and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will combine business acumen, technical expertise, and strong cross-functional leadership to advance the organization’s sales performance management capabilities and support strategic business objectives.

 

Must possess excellent interpersonal/communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, internal Commercial Operations functions, Human Resources, Finance and Field Sales.  The successful candidate will be a part of the IC Leadership bench strength for future management/direct report responsibilities.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

Incentive Compensation Operations

  • Lead end-to-end incentive compensation processes, including plan implementation, administration, calculations, validations, and payout governance.

  • Ensure compensation programs are executed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Investigate and resolve compensation, quota, territory, and data-related issues.

  • Partner with Finance to support accruals, reconciliations, forecasting, and spend reporting.

 

Systems & Technology Leadership

  • Serve as product owner and subject matter expert for incentive compensation platforms and reporting tools.

  • Manage system enhancements, testing, deployments, and ongoing optimization initiatives.

  • Partner with IT, vendors, and business stakeholders to define requirements and prioritize technology investments.

  • Drive automation and digitization efforts that improve scalability, accuracy, and user experience.

  • Oversee data integrity and system governance across compensation-related applications.

 

Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and risks and lead initiatives to improve effectiveness and reduce manual effort.

  • Develop and maintain standardized operating procedures, controls, and documentation.

  • Lead cross-functional process improvement projects using Lean and continuous improvement principles.

  • Support mergers, acquisitions, business integrations, and organizational changes impacting compensation processes.

 

Analytics & Reporting

  • Deliver advanced analytics and insights related to compensation performance, quota attainment, productivity, and sales effectiveness.

  • Develop executive-level dashboards and performance reporting tools.

  • Translate complex data into actionable recommendations for commercial leadership.

  • Support compensation modeling, scenario planning, and strategic decision-making.

 

Quota & Organizational Design Support

  • Partner with commercial leadership to execute quota-setting and deployment processes.

  • Support territory alignment and organizational design initiatives.

  • Analyze sales performance trends and provide recommendations that improve field effectiveness and goal attainment.

 

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a trusted advisor to Commercial Excellence leadership and key business partners.

  • Provide coaching, training, and subject matter expertise to team members and stakeholders.

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and influence decision-making across the organization.

  • Drive change management efforts associated with new processes, technologies, and organizational initiatives.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 7+ years of experience in Incentive Compensation, Sales Operations, Commercial Operations, Finance, or related disciplines.

  • Experience administering incentive compensation programs and supporting field sales organizations.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.

  • Experience working with Sales Performance Management platforms such as Varicent, Xactly, IBM Cognos, or similar solutions.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading compensation system implementations/digital transformation initiatives.

  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Cognos.

  • Knowledge of quota deployment, territory design, and sales planning processes.

  • Experience supporting complex, multi-business commercial organizations.

At Vantive, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $92,000 - $115,000 USD annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
