About the team

The SME & Growth Business team at Airwallex is a passionate group of collaborators and business champions dedicated to empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SME's) to thrive in the global economy. We combine deep financial expertise with a growth mindset, working closely with our clients to understand their unique needs and develop tailored solutions that streamline cross-border payments and unlock new revenue streams. As a team, we are driven by a desire to make a positive impact and are constantly innovating to find new ways to support the success of our SME customers.

What you’ll do

You will be managing a portfolio of SME leads who want to sign up to our platform. Your responsibilities will include developing processes, identifying customer segments, and enhancing our product experience. You will also collaborate with internal departments to optimize technology, workflows, client onboarding, compliance procedures, and provide data to our Growth team.

This role is based in Austin, Texas. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the inbound sales process for SME customers from initial contact through product demonstration, account closing, and product orientation

  • Be an expert across Airwallex's product offerings and how specific products can resolve customers pain points

  • Create a strong first impression to our customers and prospects by providing them with a world-class experience and product expertise

  • Achieve monthly targets of closed new business

  • Engage in customer conversations, understanding what their needs are and how we can help their business scale

  • Focus on great customer experience, resolving incoming inquiries in a timely manner to ensure a great customer experience

  • Work across diverse global offices and different team functions

Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in business development or sales with closing responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and cross-team collaboration abilities

  • Track record of accountability in meeting revenue targets

  • Effective communication skills for client engagement and problem-solving

  • Ability to organize and prioritize pipeline management tasks

Preferred qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in sales at a fintech company

  • Sales experience with usage-based products rather than contract-based selling
