Your Team's Impact
The Principal Implementation Specialist will help lead implementation efforts for FactSet's Reporting Line. The Principal Implementation Specialist will partner with the regional implementation specialists to derive and execute on best practices for engagements within their mandate.
Clients look to the Professional Services Group to develop and implement solutions that solve their most complex problems. Our clients see the Professional Services Group as a key partner when complex changes occur at their firm. These changes can include large-scale deployments of FactSet software, organizational changes, and enhancing custom processes.
FactSet's Professional Services Team has the opportunity to work across the portfolio lifecycle within the Institutional Buy-side Business Unit. This role will work primarily with tools that are a part of our reporting suite of products.
Analytics Implementation Specialists are part of a fast-growing team comprised of subject matter experts, combining product and industry knowledge to help ensure customer success during implementations. As an implementation specialist you will work with a Professional Services project team to lead successful client implementations.
What You'll Do
- Build and manage implementation scope and effort estimates. Collaborate with Global Professional Services on building project plans
- Providing product (functional and technical) guidance on the solutioning of processes based on customer needs
- Create user workflow specifications and establish priority and direction to technical integration staff on client requirements
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of the Analytics suite
- Implement new and enhance existing deployments to create a better user experience and further enable sales opportunities
- Effectively communicate with our most sophisticated users via a strong understanding of investment principles and their application in the industry
- Identify growth strategies by outlining client organizational structures and uncovering additional opportunity during the implementation process
- Share emerging trends, what is working well, and areas for improvement with the Analytics Team
- Study client workflows and partner with Product Development and Engineering to enhance FactSet’s products
- Facilitate transition from implementation phase to support
What We're Looking For
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing complex software solutions within enterprise environments
- At least 6 years of experience working with FactSet’s Analytics tools - specifically the reporting suite.
- Deep understanding of how clients use FactSet Analytics and Reporting Solutions products including Vermilion, Portfolio Publisher, Portfolio Reporting Batcher and Analytics APIs.
- Excellent technical background and exposure to financial services
- CFA, CIPM, CAPM, FRM, MBA, or other industry certifications preferred
- Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to see the big picture
- Enthusiastic with a keen sense of initiative and a desire to take ownership
- Willingness to travel
Desired Skills
- Stored Procedures writing and debugging
- Performance tuning of SQL code
- Familiar with some of the major DBMS like Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.
- Application server setup (e.g. Tomcat, JBoss/WildFly)
- Web Services, APIs, XML, JSON
- HTML syntax familiarity
- Experience with programming or scripting languages, e.g. shell, Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, VBA, etc.
- Knowledge of financial instruments or related software
- Any experience in Financial Reporting
- Technical skills with financial software applications
- Working with Excel (data and chart manipulation through VBA and other functions)
- Windows Servers, IIS
- SAML configuration / setup

Salary is just one component of our compensation package and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications.
The budgeted salary range for this position in the states of New York and California is $140,000 - $175,000.
