Job Description

The International Mobility department is looking for a skilled Immigration Compliance Manager to provide pragmatic and solution driven compliance advice and support our global stakeholders and employees.
Are you passionate about navigating the complexities of immigration and labour law compliance in a dynamic international environment, ensuring that all operations are compliant with local and international regulations? Vanderlande is seeking a driven individual to join our team in the Netherlands, where you will play a vital role supporting our global mobility program, advising local (project) teams with business decisions and ensuring compliance across various regions.

In this role, you will be a pro-active compliance business sparring partner to the global organization, ensuring that our global mobility practices are compliant and efficient, particularly in relation to immigration and labor law. You will support our international mobility and travel program for end-to-end support in close corporation with our global Immigration provider. This includes, but not limited to, immigration compliance, EU posting obligations and ensuring that our workforce operations across the globe are fully compliant with local regulations. This role will also provide the opportunity to develop on various other disciplines such as tax and social security compliance, international mobility policy and process improvements.

What would you be doing?

  • Strategic Compliance Advisory: Provide nuanced, high-level advice on complex international mobility compliance risks with a focus on immigration and labor law.
  • External Provider Collaboration & Oversight: Strategically collaborate with external global tax, social security, and immigration providers to ensure seamless, compliant, and efficient execution of international mobility programs. This involves reviewing advice, and driving accountability to guarantee adherence to international regulations and best practices.
  • Process Optimization for Enhanced Experience: Continuously analyze and improve global mobility processes, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce administrative burden, and elevate the overall employee and stakeholder experience. This includes streamlining workflows and tooling for visa and work permit applications, posted worker notifications and other international mobility compliance obligations.
  • Data Management & Immigration Application Compliance: Proactively manage the collection, validation, and secure storage of internal employee data critical for immigration applications. Coordinate accurately with global immigration providers to ensure the timely and accurate submission of all required documentation, maintaining a robust audit trail for compliance purposes.
  • Legal Translation & Policy Implementation: Demonstrate deep understanding of how to interpret evolving legislation and legal frameworks and translate them into actionable, compliant internal policies and procedures. This may include developing clear guidelines for international assignees, business travellers and development of global compliance framework for international mobility.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrate a strong understanding of business needs and strategic objectives, enabling the effective integration of global mobility solutions that support business execution while mitigating risks.
  • Business Travel Support & Visa Coordination: Provide comprehensive support for international business travelers, including proactive coordination of business visa applications, advising on permissible activities, and ensuring adherence to Vanderlande’s international mobility policies.
  • Proactive Legal Trend Monitoring & Application: Actively monitor legislative and regulatory trends and changes in global tax, social security, and immigration law, particularly within the EU, the Netherlands. . Proactively assess their potential impact on existing policies and operations, translating these insights into practical, day-to-day activities and strategic recommendations.
  • Expertise in Dutch & European Immigration Law: Possess in-depth knowledge of Dutch and broader European immigration laws, including specific visa categories (e.g., highly skilled migrant permits, EU Blue Cards, Intra-Company Transfer visas), work permit requirements, and residency regulations, ensuring corporate compliance and seamless talent deployment within the region.
  • EU Posted Workers Notification: Oversee the notification process for posted workers across various EU member states, ensuring compliance with local regulations and maintain accurate records and liaise with service providers to ensure timely submission of notifications.

What do we need from you?

- Experience: You have at least 7 years of professional experience as a consultant or in-house expert in Global Mobility compliance, with preferred specialist expertise in immigration compliance, labor law and EU regulations. Consultancy or similar inhouse role is preferred.

- Skills: You have strong written and oral communication and relational skills. You are customer oriented and know as a problem solver that searches for practical solutions. You are a team player. You have pro-active stakeholder management skills and the ability to handle complex regulatory environments. You are well organized and stress resistant and at the same time you are able to work autonomously.

- Language: Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

- Location: experience working in an international environment is highly desirable.

This position offers a competitive salary range of € 4747,69 to € 6443,29  gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
