Job Description:
Imaging Tech Assistant
Part-Time, M-F 5p-10:30pm
Assists with IV catheter placement/removal and provides support to the Imaging Technologists in the Imaging departments. This role assists in gathering pertinent patient health histories and prepares patients for exams. It prepares imaging rooms for exams and ensures patients are transported with care. Accurately identify patients using proper two-patient identifiers.
Job Duties:
- Assist techs and radiologists during imaging procedures.
- Assist technologist with IV access for contrasted imaging exams.
- Obtain stocks and/or transport supplies, including contrast and kits as directed by the registered technologist.
- Instruct patients for proper dressing/gowning dependent on type of imaging ordered.
- Prepare imaging rooms for all procedures and retrieve previous reports and labs for technologists as needed.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
Preferred Requirements:
- Enrollment in a Radiology program or equivalent medical profession preferred
- IV Certification is preferred, will allow 6 months to obtain if not current certification
