Job Summary

Job title - IES Category Manager 

Location - Stenalees and Par - St Austell - Cornwall (IBL and Imerys offices) 

Hours of work - 40h a week - Monday - Friday

Are you an experienced Category Manager seeking a role where you can have real input in establishing the purchasing process? 

As an IES Category Manager for IBL (Imerys British Lithium), you will be responsible for implementing the Purchasing plans, within the framework of the BLI development project (including a new mine and a new plant)

You will: Work in collaboration with Project Managers and Stream Leaders in purchasing activities (Capex & Opex) for our project, being involved in commercial bid tabulations, contract negotiations and contract finalisation. 

  • You will: Work in collaboration with Project Managers and Stream Leaders in purchasing activities (Capex & Opex) for our project, being involved in commercial bid tabulations, contract negotiations and contract finalisation. 

  • Ensuring the proper implementation of the Sourcing Request tool,

  • Implementing routines with the project team to anticipate the future actions,

  • Coordinating with other purchasing categories as appropriate,

  • Managing the sourcing in collaboration with the technical teams and relevant categories,

  • Participating in the qualification of suppliers,

  • Launching the tenders that are under her/his responsibility,

  • Supporting the Sustainability program of Imerys (Ecovadis registration and CO2 impact),

  • Negotiating contracts,

  • Attending the projects meetings,

  • Collaborating with the legal department for the contracts preparation and in case of claim,

  • Supporting the technical teams in case of claim and

  • Supporting team to deploy Group IT solutions as SAP, IVALUA.

s a Purchasing Manager, you will be the link/interface between the technical members, operators on the pilot plant and the rest of the purchasing organisation and project members. 

  • You will have ideally worked on a project model, managing large tenders for equipment and services. 

  • Have a Master in Business School or General Engineer with specialisation in purchasing.

  • Have a CIPS qualification (ideally Level 7)

  • Strong experience in purchases of industrial equipment, engineering contracts, work contracts, indirect services.

  • Experience in procurement and interfaces between procurement and purchasing

  • Experience in contract negotiation (equipment, engineering services).
