The Role

Hiscox is looking for an Identity & M365 Engineer to join our dynamic IT Services infrastructure team. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where decisions are made quickly, and priorities evolve rapidly. You’ll contribute to key IT initiatives by utilizing your skills in Azure AD, Microsoft 365, Identity Management, and automation to ensure we deliver world-class infrastructure solutions.

We’re looking for someone with a passion for cloud technology, collaboration, and problem-solving, who thrives in an Agile environment and can effectively manage infrastructure while proactively preventing issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Act as the primary technical contact for identity and M365-related infrastructure, collaborating with stakeholders to design, implement, and support solutions.

• Cloud Automation: Configure and automate the provisioning, testing, and deployment of cloud infrastructure using tools like PowerShell.

• Project Delivery in Agile Environments: Contribute to the planning, design, and execution of IT projects in an Agile environment, ensuring solutions meet evolving business needs.

• Proactive Problem Solving: Identify and resolve infrastructure issues to minimize business disruption and improve the overall quality and effectiveness of services.

• Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with cross-functional IT and business teams to align infrastructure services with business goals.

• Infrastructure Design & Management: Produce, own, and maintain system and infrastructure designs, policies, and documentation. Provide 3rd line support for critical systems.

• Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Identify and remove technical debt, and drive IT towards a code-centric model for managing infrastructure.

• Security & Compliance: Ensure all identity management and infrastructure services comply with security and governance standards, including the management of privileged access.

• Mentorship: Actively contribute to the development of other team members, fostering a collaborative and learning-focused culture.

What You’ll Need

Essential Skills:

• Azure AD/Entra: Experience with Azure AD, AAD, and ADFS administration.

• Microsoft 365: Expertise in the administration of Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Purview.

• Identity Management & Security: Experience with Identity Management solutions (e.g., Microsoft Identity Manager), Privileged Access Management (PAM) tools (e.g., CyberArk, PIM), and Active Directory services.

• Automation: Strong scripting skills, particularly with PowerShell, to automate manual tasks and streamline infrastructure management.

• Project Management: Proven experience working in an Agile environment, contributing to the delivery of complex IT projects.

• Collaboration & Communication: A team player with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with SaaS email security and archiving solutions (e.g., Mimecast).

• Knowledge of Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Intune.

• Familiarity with public and private cloud infrastructure (Compute, network, identity, etc.).
