Are you detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and passionate about integrity in competition? Join our Harness Racing team as an Identifier / Paddock Judge, where accuracy, fairness, and attention to detail help ensure every race is run correctly and every guest experience is trustworthy.
This unique role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of our racing program while supporting smooth, professional race-day operations.
What You’ll Do- Ensure compliance with all Pennsylvania Harness Racing Commission rules and regulations
- Serve as Paddock Judge as needed, overseeing horse preparation and equipment checks prior to races
- Observe horses in the paddock to confirm proper readiness and adherence to standards
- Record and verify racing equipment used on each horse
- Ensure a licensed trainer or groom is present for every horse in the paddock
- Act as the primary Identifier, verifying horses through tattoos and Coggins test documentation
- Confirm that the correct horse is entered and competing in each race
- Complete routine reports and correspondence accurately and on time
- Support race-day operations and assist with related duties as assigned
- Promote a professional, fair, and guest-focused racing environment
- 1–2 years of experience in the Harness Racing industry preferred
- Strong knowledge of Pennsylvania Harness Racing Commission rules and procedures
- Ability to read a Condition Sheet and interpret race entries accurately
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and integrity
- Ability to write clear, routine reports and documentation
- Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stay alert and focused in a fast-moving, high-responsibility environment
