The ICT Internal Logistics Specialist (Level 92) serves as the technical and functional design authority for internal logistics and material flow systems supporting Assembly and Powertrain manufacturing operations across North American plants. This role is accountable for end‑to‑end system ownership, ensuring operational stability, data integrity, and compliance for material execution processes spanning inbound sequencing, internal material movements, line‑side delivery, consumption confirmation, and shipment readiness.
The role leads complex, cross‑plant initiatives supporting new program launches, plant re‑layouts, automation deployments, and production readiness, while driving standardization, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of internal logistics solutions. Acting as the primary interface between ICT, Plant Operations, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering, Central Engineering, and strategic suppliers, the specialist ensures solutions align with manufacturing and logistics standards, cybersecurity policies, and business priorities, while delivering measurable value to plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical governance, solution direction, and design authority for internal logistics and material systems.
- Ensure production stability, data integrity, and availability of internal logistics systems supporting uninterrupted material flow to the line.
- Lead incident, problem, and risk management for logistics‑related production issues, driving root cause elimination and sustainable corrective actions.
- Drive enterprise adoption of standardized internal logistics processes and system capabilities, minimizing plant‑specific customizations.
- Champion modernization initiatives leveraging automation, AGVs/AMRs, scanning, analytics, AI/ML, and data quality improvements to improve material flow efficiency and accuracy.
- Translate complex logistics and manufacturing requirements into clear solution direction and executable scopes for supplier delivery.
- Oversee delivery execution for enhancements and deployments, ensuring alignment to schedule, budget, quality, and operational readiness expectations.
- Provide concise, executive‑level status, risk, and decision updates to ICT and logistics/manufacturing leadership.
- Provide senior oversight of strategic suppliers, ensuring adherence to SLAs, cybersecurity requirements, and logistics execution standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or Information Systems Management is preferred, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years experience supporting IT logistics, transportation, or IT inventory management, manufacturing systems, plant operations, or quality‑critical applications in an automotive or industrial environment.
- Excellent communication, decision‑making, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence across functions, lead without authority, and operate effectively in high‑pressure production environments.
- Demonstrated experience as a technical lead or SME for production‑critical systems.
